Chipped Window

I did a search and I saw a lot of 2004 TL had their windshield replaced due to cracks.
Did anyone ever have their side window chipped? How hard is it to replace? I got two really small chips on my passenger side rear window. It's really small and you can't really feel it when you run your finger over it. I tried to fix it with the windshield repair kit. It doesn't make the chip disappear. It hardens over it. I let it heal in the sunlight.
I'm afraid it might crack.
I will post pictures soon. Let me know what you think.

that suxs. I think a shop can fix it without replacing the whole window. You might want to check with ur insurance to see if they cover it. btw do u know how u got the chips??

Here is the picture. It's not that great. It wouldn't come out on the camera so I had to put a piece of paper there. I cut out the part where the chip is. The original picture was too big.
I zoomed in all the way so the chip can be seen.

If you can get it repaired, try and do so.. Total cost for window replacement for my TL was $543 with install.

That picture is zoomed in really close. That piece of paper is from a napkin. You can see the threads of the napkin in the picture from the rip.

Aquineas: I'm gonna see if I can get it repaired. The more I look at it now the more it looks like the rock scratched it.

Good luck; I hope it works out for you. I didn't have that option; the chip that started it all on mine was on the very edge of the window, near the moulding. I didn't notice it until there was a 4 inch crack, and it seemed almost to form instantly (I was in Glacier National Park on a curvy mountain road when I noticed). By the time i drove the 40ish miles just to leave the park, the crack was 8 inches. By the time I got home to Texas, it was clear across the windshield...

Has anyone heard of the Diamon Fusion process from DuPont? I was in a Toyota dealership and was talking to them about it. Is it worth the money? I was being offered somewhere near $400 for the "addon". It basically strengthens the bonds in the glass.
