Changed to Amsoil ATF
I just changed my tranny fluid from Redline to Amsoil ATF. First I noticed a big difference in smoother shifting. But I also noticed that the low end trq is not there. Michael Wan will hopefully chime in on this one. So smoother shifts Bad low end trq Before when I would tap the pedal from a stop it would put me back in the seat. Now when I do it, its just too smooth. No trq.

Did you just do one drain/fill with Amsoil?
The main question here is whether the transmission behavior you're currently experiencing was also experienced with Honda Z1. In other words, when your first bought the car, did the transmission function this way?
You can try resetting the TCM by disconnecting the battery cables, and having it relearn your shifts.

If you read the Amsoil ATF specs, it meets and exceeds all the requirements of a Honda ATF Z1 specs. However, if you compare the charts and the numbers between Redline ATF vs Amsoil ATF. Redline products EXCEEDS Amsoil....... but then again... those are just numbers. Personal experience counts and seems like eric has been running his car in Amsoil ATF for 22k and no problems. Paul recently shifted to Amsoil and seem to have better shifting. Meanwhile I have Redline and had hard shift before, but since lubeguard, it's been fine.
I will change to Amsoil upon my next tranny fluid change.
Thanks for the heads up Paul
