Question To car cover or not???

This christmas I will be in New Mexico and Colorado without a roof over my 06 TL. I am debating purchasing a car cover but I am not sure. Usually she has a roof over her head. I will definately be getting the all season mats.

Knowing that there will most likely be snow, rain and ice involved, is my baby better with a car cover?

Looking for advice and opinions.

i would never put car cover on my car during snow season..
why dont you rent a small storage garage and put your baby in there when you gone for your nice vacation ..soo you dont have to worry about snow or something happen to it. most likely to cost 50 bucks a month..my brother is putting his X5 in a small storage during the snow since he dont want it to get rusted and his chrome rims to be damage by the snow...

I garage my cars and THEN cover them. That way I dont have to worry about my cat scratching them.

If you get the car cover, be sure to wash it regularly. If dirt gets stuck in it and you put it on the car, the dirt will scratch the clear coat.

Yeah, you should only use the cover when the car's clean.

Sounds like you're taking the car to NM and CO? I'd be more concerned about getting a nose bra if anything... CO uses sand/gravel on top of salt on most of the roads in the winter.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
She wouldn't do that to you. Here are your options.
1. Spring for the $50 and rent a storage unit.
2. Deebo your neighbor and put it in his garage and dare him to touch it.
3. Hammer, blow up, etc the wall to your living room, park her there.
4. Hire a few local bums to stand and cover it while youre gone.

The car is my transportation. There is not a garage where I will be on my vacation.

$50 a month?

It costs around $175 a month in the Chicago area, so I wouldnt guess $50 unless you know for a fact. (And not a two year contract signature thing either)

On another note, why have an x5 if you wont drive it in the snow?

There is a difference between rental prices in Chicago and New Hampshire

Storage is dirt cheap here, but its not an option for everyone.

i guess it depend on where you live to get a low price for garage rental..but anyways the X5 belong to my brother..as for him putting it in a garage is because it snow bad up north soo he dont want the snow to hurt the paint or the car itself..you know what i mean right/?do i need to show picture of the X5?

Car covers are only worth while if you put them on while the cover and the car are both clean. Unless you're planning to wash the car at the end of every day after driving around, you're going to end up with that cover in the trunk and not on the car.

Invest in something to protect the front end during all of the driving, and have a good quality snow brush that won't scratch the paint. Keep your eyes peeled for car washes that are "manual" (so you can spray the underbody after driving around in the snow/slush) or at least "touch-free" (those robotic automated ones - and spring the extra buck for the undercarriage wash and drive over it real slow). They won't actually get your car clean, but they will allow you to get the heaviest portion of snow/slush off of your car after a storm.

I will assume he has modified the x5 heavily and it's a show car; otherwise I laugh. (I get that right because I am entitled to my opinion)
