HFL standby indicators. When the HFL is energized (i.e. when making a call), the power is diverted from the LEDs and energizes the mic.
Check the GARAGE on the main page, some earlier models had recurrent HFL failures, kinda good foresight they put this in as a redundancy to determine if your HFL will fail.

Flux Capacitor standby indicators. When the Flux Capacitor is energized (i.e. when time traveling), the power is diverted from the LEDs and energizes the Warp circuits.
Check the GARAGE on the main page, some earlier models had recurrent Flux Capacitor failures, kinda good foresight they put this in as a redundancy to determine if your Flux Capacitor will fail.

As others have said, they are ambient lights. Most every luxury car has them. Cover them up with your hand at night and you'll see the subtle difference that they make in the car. It's quite nice.
Map lights would be the ones that you press on to turn on so you can see something in the car when it's dark.
Not without completely changing them out for something brighter. Which would defeat the purpose of them being ambient lights.
