Brembo rear pads

I got some Brembo rear pads P28022N. I have them side by side against my original rear 2005 TL brake pads. The pads look very similar. The only visual I can see is the wear indicator is slightly wider These pads are listed for various cars are years. Honda Accord, Civic, Integra Legend, but not TL.
I just swapped out my rear pads with original Honda pads after almost 300k of almost freeway driving.
Anyway, has anyone noticed anything similar? where a part for one car will fit another, but is not listed?

Sujit

Are you asking why Acura lists a specific part number for the TL, and a separate part number for Accords and other cars?

Its likely because the genuine Acura pad compound is formulated specifically for the TL.

For the aftermarket version, its easier for Brembo's manufacturer to come up with a compound that kinda works across the board.

Shock companies do similar things.

Not sure if that was your question....

I didn’t realize the rear was brembo pads. I thought the rears were from the cheap parts bin special and only the fronts on manual or later typeS versions had anything to do with Brembo.

Thank you acurazine community for imparting with this knowledge.

I don't think anyone is saying that the stock rears are made by Brembo

Stock rears are Akebono IIRC.

OP purchased a set of rear brake pads for the stock rear caliper that are branded by Brembo.

They're pretty common.

I think they're available at rockauto or eBay or parts stores.

Just for clarification, these pads were not listed for Acura 2005 TL but they looked very similar to the rear pads I took off the car. On closer inspection, there is a dimple on these Brembo pads right where the piston will contact the pad. The pads look like that they will fit in the caliper but as mentioned, that dimple on the pad will not let the caliper piston fit flat on the pad. Here I have uploaded my old pads and the Brembo pads
Sujit

That dimple wont let the caliper piston sit flat on the pad.

Well, now you know why your car isn't on the compatibility list.

Those pads are meant for a car with integrated parking brakes. Likely a 2G TSX or 7th/8th gen Accord.

Calipers with integrated parking brakes use that stub to keep the caliper piston from rotating.

You can grind it off if you really wanna use those pads. Or buy pads meant for your car.

Thanks for the explanation. The first set lasted almost 300k miles. I'm 55 years old and I don't think I'll be changing the current set again in my lifetime.

Ok, hopefully you chose to return those and buy pads meant for your car. I would recommend just buying the factory pads again.
