Brake Rotors Question

I got a 07 TL-S and my girl has a 00 TL. I'm changing my breaks on the TL-S to a crossdrilled/slotted rotors with Hawk Pads combo. The 00 Rotors are pretty much done...Can my stock TL-S rotors fit on her 00 TL?

Just curious..wanna save some money .

Thank ahead of time for any input!

i dont believe so...your rotors are bigger and were designed for the 4 piston caliper....her rotors are a bit smaller...

personal experience dude..... dont go with the aftermarket crap. your brakes squeak and will warp. ive been through it all i have stock and will not move away from stock unless brembo is the one releasing stuff for oem replacement.

To me, the TL-S needs a bit more stopping power...
Do you have the dealer do your brakes?

I guess i was spoiled from my civic that had crossdrills....that car stopped on a dime...

But thanks for the input...

Do a search .. there was a pretty good writeup wht the X drilled slotted weren't a good choise for street use because of the wear issus and tendency to warp.

I will do that, is there a difference between crossdrilled/slotted and just crossdrilled?

crossdrilled slotted has slits in the rotors and holes n the crossdrilled has no slits. and its not only the "S" thats got the brembos, the 04-06 tl in stick has brembos....the reason it doesnt have the power is beacuse it doesnt have them in the rear. most people upgrade them. I will too but im a lil skeptical id rather wait and see what they drop in later honda models. if they apply brembos to the rear Ill adapt it to work on the tl

I thought the TLS using Brembo already had great stopping power? Try upgrading the pads to ceramics first before changing the rotors.

Hawks are pretty nice and they give you a lil more stoppping. They are known to squeak a lot. I changed mine for hawk HPS and they are too noisy, even after 2 bed-ins

If hawks are making noise, you probably didnt clean the rotor surface before install as required in the directions for them

doesnt matter they dont mate with the surface well anyway... i did hawk on a SRT-8 grand cherokee and they dont use the shims we use on the brembo pads which are really important. and they warped the rotors. thats my experience I also used apr on my car and it ruined the rotors as well.
