Best bang for buck? I'd say Autozone Duralast CMAX. ~65 dollar initial investment, then free lifetime pads.

Braking isnt as good as OEM brembo pads, but for DD you cant beat it.

yes autozone gold cmax pads are great bang for buck i give it that, plus awesome lifetime replacement.

however for maximum braking, you will want oem pads

if they still make them and you can find them I would upgrade to the aspec pads. i know heeltoe use to sell them. big improvement over the standard pad.

edit. i didnt see the "best bang for the buck comment" these pads are high in the bucks area, but also high in the bang area....so still worth mentioning

I am currently running racingbrake et500 pads and rotors

Agree with the top line, but IMO think they're as good OEM. I wouldn't say they're better, so when folks ask for what pads would be an 'upgrade' to OEM, I don't think you can say the C-Maxes are in braking performance. But to that I say they are still an 'upgrade' for the reduced dusting and noise.

FWIW...YMMV

+1 although they produce more dust than most aftermarket, they still stop on the dime!

I replaced mine with rotora's before and they were awesome. Currently running Stoptechs pads.

One pieces? Have you had the 500s in the winter weather yet? I'm about to buy the RB 1 pieces but can't decide on pads. The 300s or the 500s... I'm afraid that in the winter they may not get hot enough quick enough... Also, any noise?

Yes, one piece rotor. And I have never experienced any noise. They work fine cold but definitely work better with a few stops. Its usually just part of routine now to just give it a few hard stops before i hit the freeway, but it isnt so bad that i have felt scared i wasnt going to stop. Most people prob wouldnt notice the difference. Worse if you park outside in the winter, but still nothing to worry about. I have had them a few years now and never had anything bad to say about them. Upgraded from OEM rotors and Aspec pads.

I'd rock the cmaxs on OEM rotors I think but I want to upgrade the rotors and the RB setup seems to be the best. And I've heard that the RB rotors will eat up almost any other pads but their own. Plus, I'd rather match the parts company wise...

To the OP: OEM, OEM aspec, or cmax golds if you're on OEM rotors. IMHO.

I have a 6MT with brembo calipers so it's extremely easy to change the pads in my car. But yes, I do them myself. I'm running CMAXes in and have no complaints. I DD my car so anywhere I can save money without sacrificing huge amounts of performance or quality I'll do...free pads on a DD is crazy! I can drive my car to the end of the world and still get free pads. That's money in my pocket.
