Unhappy Both our 2005 TL's are gone :(

All within one month. First my wife 4 weeks ago, got rear-ended at a standstill on the freeway at 45 MPH, and then a few days ago my mom getting on 237 in a line of cars getting on the highway gets rammed by a truck going about 35 MPH.

Wife and mom are ok, thank gosh for the safety of the car taking all the impact.

Notice the License Plates, we bought are calls on the same day.

Dang what bad luck. So what's the plan? Two new 07s? Maybe a Type S?

that's horrible!! I'm sorry to hear for your loss, but it's good it was only a car and they're repairable/replaceable.

For my wife we already replaced it with a 2006 Lexus GS430 and for my mom I'm looking for a late 2006 or 2007 (not Type S)

Really missed the car but wifey could bear driving the same model after the incident.

Omg sorry man. Those pictures are painful, glad your wife and mom are OK. I live in the Bay Area too and we have some of the most awful scary drivers. Both accidents on the 237? 101 is such a nightmare!

Ouch, sorry about your recent misfortunes. 45 and 35 mph standstill impacts and no one got hurt, this is the good spin on a bad story. It is good to know that our TLs can take such punishment and our most important assets are able to get up and walk away.

Well, if you do plan on replacing your mom's TL with a new one, you should probably be able to get a good deal on an 06' if you can find it in the configuration you are looking for. It is so close to the end of the year, if you can hold out without getting another car for a few weeks, you might be able to pull off an "end-of-year walk in the car dealer late on the 30th or so" and try to get it at a bargain when the dealers are trying to get the year-end numbers up and the old inventory out...

Good luck with whatever your decision. The new G35s are pretty cool too...

My wife's accident was on 280 (even worse driving that during rush hour)

Yes hoping to get a good deal for my mom on a 2006 TL w/Navi. To her a 2007 really doesn't matter.

Glad everyone is ok - well except the poor TL's. Makes me a little crazy when I see one on here smashed up like that - but it looks like our TL's hold up well in a crash.

Glad you guys are ok!

Wow! That was some accident(s)! But as bad as it was, OUR TLs CAN TAKE A LICKING - AND "WE" KEEP ON TICKING!!!

BTW, you definitely can hold out until the end of the year to buy a car, cuz you already have a mini car lot:

2005 TL Navi (RIP)
1991 Acura NSX CTSC AEM
2004 Lincoln Navigator
2006 Lexus IS250
2006 Lexus GS430 (Replacement for TL)

holy rusted metal batman! Thos pictures look bad. Glad to hear your wife and mom are ok. Sorry to hear about the double TL murder combo. What are the chances of that happaning. Kinda sad that your wife didnt want to get back into another TL. What a wonderful car but its understandable. After a bang up like that I might as well did the same. Good luck on finding an TL placement for your mom's ride. You might be able to get a better deal than before being the 07's are out and about.

You would be surprised how SUV's DON'T hold up in accidents like this. Both CHP's told us that the TL held up and saved both my mom and wife.

Happy to hear that all are well, definitely something to give thanks over during the holiday season. A second thought, skip the lotto ticket purchases, your luck isn't there now!

I am glad the TL was tough enough that the OP's relatives were not hurt. Those crumple zones are REALLY well-designed, I guess!

Makes me feel better even though I now drive an RL with the ACE structure.

I suppose that's one way of "clearing" your tail lights. Glad to hear your wife and mom are ok.
