I`ve got a WDP 6MT, with the aero kit, what do you guys think it would look if the aluminum grill were painted black? All the rest of the trim is black. (except the piece in the back). Opinions?

 

I agree! You can have the back aluminum trim painted too, it comes out pretty easily

 

I'm really liking the idea...i think the contrast would be awesome....I would just be apprehensive due to the possibility of chips and such..let us know what you decide

 

The dealer said removing it was not difficult. Also if I don`t like it, its around 200.00 bucks to replace. Not that bad

I'm sure we would all like to be kept up to date...it sounds like a simple but really nice mod....what kind of paint would you use??? A shiny or more of a matte finish???

 

I am not a fan of the matte chrome look. Just think that Acura should have stuck with mirror chrome (ala TSX) on the grill and the piece above the license in the back and would look much better. The matte chrome inside is fine however. I just think the matte just cheapens the look when paired with the dark exterior colors.

Painting the grill might look nice. If you got chips you could always repaint.

 

Painting the matted is a GREAT idea. I don't think it goes with the car. I would have it painted by your body shop so that they can bake it - the paint will be as durable as the rest of the car.

I am going to look into this. Since I added the gold logos, the matte chrome clashes. It would look a LOT better black.

 

What about a WDP grille on a WDP TL? (or any of the colors)

I've been trying to visualize everything (silver/gray) painted body color with exception to the center "TL" and the black inner grille. Time for me to take some time with Paint Shop Pro and a picture of the front of my TL....
