Bird dropping Stupid question I admit
What is the best technique for removing 1 or two spots of bird droppings on an otherwise freshly cleaned car? I don't want to wash the whole thing again when I just did it, but I don't want the bird droppings to bake into the paint either. Is there a spray on product that with gentle rubbing with a cotton towel or something that works well?
Don't listen to these folks. Dish soap will remove wax and the other...well it's funny but not helpful.
Do a search for an answer to this. It's been asked and answered a couple of times. There are products out there. The important thing, don't let it sit!

I use a wet paper towel to soften it and then blot it out with the same paper towel. Once all shit is picket up, take another wet paper towel and clean the area and then wipe dry. Be very careful while softneing the shit. You do not want to slide it on the surface, it will put a scratch.
Always keep a bottle of QD and couple of microfiber towels in your trunk...But to remove it, wet the area and BLOT, DO NOT WIPE...There might be some pebbles in the bird's sh!t and you don't want to be dragging that across your paint.

I don't think this is a stupid question at all. I've been wondering the same thing myself. I don't know the best answer - I'm hoping we get some more comments here - but one thing I can say with certainty is...whatever you do, wash your hands thoroughly afterwards. Bird poop is full of nasty, potentially infectious stuff.
The parts shop at your Acura dealer offers a Pro Honda Spray Cleaner and Polish. They call it a "Roadside Detailer". You can get a 14 oz can for about five bucks. I use it to touch up the bumper after I accumulate some bugs. It leaves the surface slick like a wax. I don't know whether or not it removes any pre-existing waxes, but it works really well.
You can also by a sampler kit of Pro Honda products. It includes a glass cleaner, the detailer, and a leather/vinyl protectant. You get three 5 oz. cans for about $6.

1. Get it off ASAP! It is very acidic and can make a permanent mark in the paint.
2. DONT RUB IT! Birds eat gravel to digest, and it comes out in the poop. You rub it and you are almost guaranteed scratches.
I usually don't worry about washing the car again and just get to a hose as fast as possible, and flood the poop with water until it softens and dissolves. You may aid it a LITTLE when it is soft with a fingernail.
Good Luck!
