Mine are being delivered today, I'll install them when I get home.

Is there a way to just have the "fog lights" on (the new leds that im installing) during the day without having the headlights on?

04 Base TL

Thanks

It's not a piece-of-cake job, but I've done worse. DEFINITELY worth it.

Looking forward to the pics!

Here are mine.... first pic shows the new led on the pass side. It is brighter as you can tell by the glare from taking the pic head on.

Second pic is both at night. They don't match up to my switchbacks but I've had these switchbacks for a long time now also and those are the type 2's which no one really makes anymore.

Also I noticed mine do not sit in the housing the way the illustration Frosty posted. mine sit on an angle pointed downward and to the inside. the leds should be one on the left and right side within the light but mine are like at 45 degree angle top and bottom. I think that has to do with the way the oem bulb would sit and how the harness connects for easy removal.

All in all I can see them reflect off cars in front of me looking at the bumper. I haven't drove at night to see how much light is shining out and scattered. I can say they did light up my neighbors house across from me. At one point I thought he was going to come out. But again my driveway is on a decline.

They look good, man! Much brighter than your old DRLs. Also, if you're talking about the illustration showing how the LEDs should be positioned in a housing, I did not post that. Mine also sit an an angle like yours. As long as they are the same on both sides, you should be good.

Let us know how the nighttime driving goes!

I'm very happy with the results. I'm seriously considering doing the fog light mod to allow them to be turned on independently.

Those look great, man! I'm glad you like them. And YES, you definitely should do the independent fog light mod. It makes for an awesome DRL setup.

Dome lights look good too, btw. So bright!

My search for LEDs started after I became sick of the Nokya Hyper Yellow halogens that I had in both my upper (factory) fogs, and my lower (Inspire) fogs. I was just tired of the yellow, JDM-look in general. So I originally planned on getting white LEDs for the upper fogs, and white HIDs for the lower fogs. I knew the upper LEDs would never be as bright as the lower HIDs, but putting HIDs in the upper fog housings really isn't a viable option.

There are quite a few LEDs that will fit in the upper fog housing of the 04-06 TL, and the DRL housing of the 07-08 TL, but I would dare to say that I've found the absolute best one out there, both in terms of color, and brightness. I stumbled across it while searching on a popular lighting site among this forum, and they were listed for nearly $100. They caught my attention because they were new, and the specs looked quite impressive. I was able to find the same LEDs elsewhere for a much better price, and decided to give them a shot.

The install was a piece of cake- a simple plug-and-play design.

When I turned them on for the first time, I literally thought I had turned the HIDs on by mistake- that's how insanely bright these things are! (4800 lumens)

Upper fogs / DRLs ONLY

I was so impressed with these LEDs, that I ditched the idea of getting HIDs for the Inspires, and bought another set of these instead.
Lower Fogs ONLY

Two days ago, one of my factory HIDs burned out, so while I wait for my CBIs to arrive, I've had to use only my upper and lower LEDs to light the path. I've had no problems whatsoever. I forget the HIDs are even off.

Upper Fogs / DRLs and Lower Fogs ONLY

These LEDs matched my factory (color-shifted) HIDs quite well, but they are a PERFECT match for the CBIs. I convinced my brother to get a pair for the fogs on his 2011 335i (which also has CBIs), and they couldn't be a closer match. My mom is also going to get a set for her 2011 SRX fogs.

These lights are so sick, I just couldn't keep them to myself. After purchasing 3 sets of these LEDs (soon to be 4), I was able obtain a discount code from the seller and he said I'm free to share it with others. So you guys can get them for an even better price than I did! The code gives you 20% off AND free shipping.

You can order a set (or two) through this link:

And make sure to use this coupon code:

GTXM2

P.S. These LEDs are available in every size needed for '04-'08 fogs and DRLs (plus Inspires, which are H11). If you don't know what bulb size you need, check out THIS POST.

these are seriously dope def ordering!

That was one of the first mods I did to my car. For a while I actually rigged my HID lowbeams as DRL since I figured they'd last a lot longer without burning out.

I ran into a problem, my FM reception goes bad when I turn on my LED fog lights now. When I drove to work today with them on I noticed my FM reception was breaking up. The second I turn them off, the reception is good again.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how do you fix it?

I never listen to the radio (Spotify Premium FTW!) but I will test mine after work. That seems odd to me that the lights would have an affect on the reception though.

I did a google search and LED lights causing RF disturbances are not uncommon. Most articles were referring to lighting in houses, boats etc but I'm assuming the same applies to lighting on a car.

Can anyone else confirm if their FM radio reception is being messed up by these LED lights?

Just got back from test-driving my car with the radio on. Neither my upper fogs nor my lower fogs had any affect on the FM radio reception (even when all 4 were on at the same time). This experiment did remind me why I never listen to public radio though- I cannot stand a single song on there, haha.

I would check your wiring to make sure you have solid connections with all of the plugs/adapters.

Awesome dude! Looking forward to seeing the LEDs on your car.

As for the Inspire fog housings, I love them! I think they flow with the front end even better than the accord fogs. The install wasn't too bad actually. Trust me, I was VERY hesitant to cut into my car, but once you get going, it's pretty straightforward. Took me about 6 hours total (and I take my good ole time). I've also heard the inspires require less cutting than the accord fogs, but I have no personal experience with those.

The seller is going to contact Cree and see what they say. When I'm closer to Milwaukee (where most of the FM stations are at) its not nearly as noticeable, but when I go back home (20 miles away), the second I turn on my LED fog lights, the signal goes to hell.

It's not a deal breaker but it seriously stinks. Looks like I might have to fork over the $ and get XM/Sirius.

Yeah that stinks, man. Let us know what they say!

Also, you should just get Spotify. It's so awesome - ALL the music in the world, right at your fingertips, for 10 bucks a month.

You download the Spotify app on your iPhone (or Android). There's a few different ways to connect your phone to the TL factory radio. I use the DICE R3/R4 integration kit and love it, but those can be hard to find now. I know other people use something called iSimple. They also have Bluetooth options out now as well. Just do some searching. There's a lot of threads on this topic already.

Got them and installed yesterday, very easy install, pretty bright, and they are close to my CBIs, just a touch more blue on the LEDs. They don't seem to put a lot of light on the ground but will work well as DRLs.

If your 9006 has bulb shieldsbin tje reflectors? Then I'd suggest 9012, they're 1800+ lumems for $40 a pair. Best of all you won't blind anybody with an hid kit.

SI Fog Pics

My buddy got a set of Frosty Fogs for his SI, and I was able to snap some pics tonight at the weekly car meet we have in town. He LOVES 'em, and is ordering the highs and lows next week to match. They look so much better than the factory halogens!

I think I need to change my drl harness. I'm using the ijdmtoy harness which I had for quite some time. I'm getting my driver side led brighter then my pass side led. I noticed this even with the prior bulbs which were from vleds. Now I'm on vleds site and I see they have a few different harness set ups. Which one should I get to work properly with these bulbs and get them to their brightest they can be. I want to order right away.

Nope, bumper removal is not at all necessary. You can just open the hood and replace them from above. You may have to remove the battery for the driver side light (I didn't).

There are three philips head screws that you'll need to loosen to be able to twist the bulbs out. I can get to them with a stubby screwdriver. The are equally spaced around the bulb.

That's obviously just a mistake on their site. If you notice, they're even using a picture of an '07-'08 TL.
