they usually have those at parts stores, why would you order that stuff? Unless there is a significant price change, but I doubt there will be.

oh I see what you mean. I'd say search the oil changing threads and see what kind of filters and oil ppl use. Then when you make a decision on what you want, google it. That's usually what I do, but maybe someone knows of deals happening right now.

This seems to be a popular combo here. Redline out and royal purple oil filter. These are the cheapest prices I've found

Advance Auto Parts usually has a syn oil + oil filter special. Have you checked out their prices in your local area?

You aren't going to get bulk pricing on oil in individual quart bottles. You'd have to buy it in 55 gallon drums at a minimum.

Since you are using regular dino oil, the cheapest place you're going to find it locally is in 5 quart jugs at Walmart.

Right now, Advanced Auto Parts is having a special on oil filters from Purolator for $5. I just stocked up on them yesterday. Follow this link for the coupon for $10 off if you purchase $25 worth.

https://acurazine.com/forums/car-talk-5/stock-up-those-oil-filter-798449/

I usually buy Mobil1 Synthetic 5W-20 in a 5 quart container at Wal-Mart.

The local auto parts stores usually run oil and filter specials. The best one seems to be buy 5 quarts of Mobil1 with a free Mobil1 filter. If you're not using synthetic Walmart for the oil and you can get filters from Amazon pretty inexpensively.

I just bought a whole box of Redline 5W-20 off of Amazon for $120 shipped and a royal purple oil filter from pep boys for $16. Expensive, but well worth the price. My car has never run better.

Just go to walmart. Mobil 1 Synthetic-5qts. for only 21 bucks. Buy 5 and that should set you a while.

Whomever said Advance Auto is correct. A year ago, I bought 6 (5 quarts + Filter) sets of Mobil 1 5w20 from them with the free filter and 20% off for $106 and free shipping because at that time there was no local pickup on that set. That was by far the best deal I have ever seen.

I do the same. When it goes on sale (5 qt + premium filter) for about $27, I stock up.

I think this week then have Castrol Syn. A few months ago they had Mobil-1 at this price also.

IMHO.. OEM Honda filters are junk. The cheapest filter I'd buy is K&N. It's a decent filter mfg'd by champ labs. I've been running a royal purple filter in the X and TL and it's been an outstanding filter. I dissected one last year after an extended oci and the integrity of the mesh backed filter media and anti drainback valve were like new. In regards to oil, you can still find good deals on group IV synthetics.. M1-EP is ~$20 for 5 qts. Doesn't get much better than that. If you decide on sticking with a group III oil, just don't fall for the marketing bs.

I've seen conflicting stories on this, but can I switch from regular oil to sythetic with no issues?

unless you are on an extended oil change interval or boosted, i don't see the need for full synthetic... if you just follow the MID reminder, save the money and stick to dino...
