Anyone have pics of the sensors, up close on their car? You can PM me if want.

Thanks,
Rick

rkilian, thanks for the photo! so, how do they operate? Is it just a beep beep beep...or is there some visual cue as well, like in my 745?

Thanks
Rick

There's no visual cue. It's just "beep... beep... beep... beep-beep-beep BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!"

There is a module, part of the kit, that gets installed uncerneath the rear deck (thorugh the trunk) and this is what makes the beep sounds.

Lightbulb Re: How it works?...

Jss1 ever told me that the side and rear sensors have different sounds, the rear 2 are low frequency and the side 2 are high frequency. Both operate independently so you can tell if your getting close on the side, back, or in between.

There is nothing that distinguishes between left and right but since the side ones operate at a much closer range (under 2 feet) it should be easy to see.

Questions for all of you with the sensors installed...Did you have your dealer do it at purchase? How much did it cost? Does it work with the navi system at all?

They are FUGLY, particularly in light color cars although they are undeniably useful.
