Light Distortion In The Headlight Path?

This is tough to describe, but bear with me....

It's night. Your headlights are on and illuminate a path of 180 degrees from left to right, or, 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock as you drive in the forward direction.

On my new TL, the 'spread' of this 180 degree path has a distortion at the 11 o'clock position.....almost like the lip of the hood is cutting into the light path and is creating a 'dip' on the horizon.

Anyone else experience this?

BJ

This is normal. This is to avoid the blindnign to the oncoming drivers. Search the forum and you'll find at least 3 threads on it.

It looks like ascending stairs up to your right until it levels off on the passenger side correct?

Well as the previous poster point out it is designed that way, so no obstruction exists.

You notice it now because your HIDs are more biased toward the blue end of the spectrum, so the cutoff is more apparent to the naked eye.
