Question Wheel Balancing

I just got my car back and noticed they put over 2 ounces on some wheels...


How much is too much???

Anyone??

I was once told by a good friend of mine who ran a Goodyear shop that anything approaching 3 ounces on an SUV tire was an indicator that something was out of wack... Good passenger car tires, given the rim is balanced, should not take more than 2.5 ounces on anything over a 16 inch rim.

Two of my factory EL-42's required 2.5 ounces and the other two required less than 3/4 of an ounce each... Although they still vibrate at any speed over 50........
