Question Back Window Tint

I just got my car tinted and a piece of the back rear window does not have a tint over it since the plastic is over it. It noticable from the outside. Has anyone experience this while tinting their car? Did this shop not know what they were doing? Anyone with some advice will be well appreciated. Thanks.

I think you need to take it back to the shop. They need to tint it. It's pretty difficult to put the tint in that piece. Unless the shop is not good they'd have tough time putting it in there.

No matter the small section on the rear doors or the back window, tint shops should be able to do so. joganjani is right.

The tint covers 100% of my rear windows in my TL. The guy used a slim piece of rubber and put it under the plastic to apply the tint. Go back to the shop and have them fix it, or go somewhere else and have it redone.

I had my rear windows completely tinted. All you need to do is carefully remove the rear cover before you take it to the Tint shop. BE AWARE that the cover might not go back onto the light area as nice as it was before you took it off. (read my instructions for install towards the end). The factory installs that part before the rear windshield goes on so its much easier for them to install it.

To remove cover just carefully pull down on the cover (not from the window side but from the front side of it). There are two clips on either side of the cover that you just need to pull out. You should be able to use all the clips again for reinstall.

To install..just align the white plastic clips into the holes into the sheet metal and gently push up the cover until it pops in place. Also when installing you might notice that it does not stay flush to the glass...when you pull it off look and you will see two tabs on either sides of the cover. Make sure you did not break them and then you might have to play with those tabs to make sure they lock into the proper place on the light.

My cover is hanging a bit right now because I forgot about those tabs..so when I get a chance I will have to play with that a bit to improve the fit.
