Auto feature not working properly on front passenger window...

Well I was leaving college and saw one of my friend and went towards him and rolled down the front passenger window, and then when I tried rolling up with auto feature it wouldn't roll up, I had to hold the button up to roll up the window. I tried like 20 times, rolling up and down with auto feature and didn't work. Then I tried rolling up and down from the passenger side button/switch (whatever u wanna call it) and same problem. After like 20 times, I called dealer and made an appointment with them for ASAP and Tuesday was the day I got the appointment. Well now I just got @ work and I tried again and it worked fine... :wtf:

Did any one else had this problem? I haven't seen any one mention here but who knows

Timeout

Are you sure there isn't some sort of time limit on how long after you turn the car off you can use the auto roll up feature.

Same Thing

The same thing happend to me one time right when I got the TL - My wife rolled down the passenger window and it wouldn't go up. I restarted the car it worked fine. It is totally random and one of those things that will never, ever, be replicated at the dealer...

There is, about 10 minutes, but that's not the problem here.

It has happened to me. The dealer ordered me a new window regulator after inspecting it. I still have to go in to get it replaced.

It initially only happened in auto mode, but then it happened in manual. Eventually the only way I could close the front passenger window was by using my key and holding it in the lock position.

I think you can operate the windows and sunroof for 10 min. after shutting the car off. However, that time is reduced to zero if a door is opened.

When the battery dies, the Owner's Manual, page 99, says the AUTO function could be disabled, so lower the window all the way down, then pull back on the switch to raise the window, and when it hits the top, hold the switch for 1-2 seconds more.

This is probably the reset feature he talked about.

But if the battery didn't die, as jatt said, sounds like a trip to the dealer, as he also said.

On the same note, this is something rather common, but you can also talk on the hfl for 30 mins (i believe) after turning the car off and taking key out of ignition

Good luck wit ur window issue !!!
