Audio tape of technician's diagnostics

I got my TL back today after the front driver side window kept rattling whenever I shut my door. I was surprised to find an audio tape attached to my work order. I asked what this was and the advisor told me that's a recording of your technician explaining to you what he did to your car.

I thought this was pretty cool, and I guess their going to start making CD's. does any of your dealers do this? First time for me.

Finally a use for the cassette player. Isn't it comforting knowing someone who can not read and write well enough to give you a report is fixing your car(he prolly can, just too lazy, like me).

That's actually pretty cool on your dealer's part.

Wow. I have never heard of that - kinda like when they go over a body or crime scene on CSI. Ha, Ha be pretty funny if you hear the guy say "...I am now kneeling on your back seat causing you one helluva knee print...ooops I just dinged your aluminum trim with my seatbelt...."

Thats why I love Continental Acura, they're service is great, I was surprised when they provided the tape as well. The first time I used the tape player was for that reason

From what the tech said he took the door panel off and adjusted the tracks that hold the window in place. He was speaking a bit to fast actually. I guess they were a little loose somehow. Simple fix took them 4 hours though. Warranty covers the cost.

Nice idea, but...

It's actually a good effort at customer service, but I bet it won't last long. Why?

It will last until the first dispute arises and some attorney uses the recording as evidence against the dealership. That will end the practice in a hurry.

I am sure the dealership isn't that stupid. I'm sure they consulted with there legal group prior to the tape recording or what you stated above can happen. Too many people are sue happy these days.
