What's up people? I am knee deep in my search for an 04-05 TL with nav, MT or auto. Problem is being from CT, the selection isn't great and the prices are elevated. I am seeing a fair amount of good loking TLs in NY/NJ that are reasonably priced, but I have heard horror stories about buying cars from the thouands of b-league dealers in those areas. I hear that the regultions as far as what they can sell you are signifigantly less strict that they are in CT (granted I heard that part from a CT dealer) and you are more likely to get a good looking car that hasnt been well cared for
My questions are 1. Is there any truth towhat i have heard about the slack regulations in ny/nj? 2. Has anyone bought a TL from one of these dealers and had a good or bad experience, or would like to recommend a dealer to check out? 3. Is there anything to avoid when dealing with these guys and 4. Has anyone heard of or dealt with EMG Auto Sales in NJ? Thier inventory always looks good online and prices seem too good to be true.
Thanks for the info!
Also I am fully aware that I should use carfax reports

I should have mentioned I am looking for something with higher miles and lower price as I am using this as a (nice) commuter. more in the 13-15k range price-wise, the type that you wont generally find at an official Acura dealer, which is why I am looking at the off brand private dealers!

I got my TL from EMG Auto Sales in Jersey City. I had been looking all over for a NBP MT with Nav and they were the only place that had it. I was skeptical, like you were, but I did a carfax check and it came out clean. I also brought it to a mechanic in the area who I knew and he said it was good. I haggled the guy down a few G's on the price as well.
But just because I had a good experience, doesn't mean you will, I feel like its a car by car basis. The place is definitely shady looking and their office is a trailer (no joke), so before you buy anything there make sure you get it checked out like I did.

^my preference is 6mt with nav too. They are hard to find and the guy has two of them. How long ago did you buy it and how much did you pay vs what he was asking (if you don't mind me asking). I was also suspect about the ny thing bevause I don't know any mechanics in the area to check it out. So overall you rate you experience dealing with them a positive?

^^thanks but I'm not looking for a black TL. Had an 06 nbp/camel before and it was just too much work to keep clean. Unless the deal was too good to pass up I promised myself I'd go ssm, am, or wdp this time. Black interior only!!

if you go to paragon......bargain ur ass off....they screw people on returns n give them shit for value.......n then they expect big returns i walked out n got a call later for the deal i wanted... but it was too late....i went to another dealer...rallye is a great dealer as well.
Paragon has good cars for sale they wouldnt take a car thats been throughh hell and the same goes for rallye.

I bought it in August of last year, He was asking 21,000 and I talked him down to 19,000 out the door (it had 55,000 miles). Granted if I was to have bought the same car a few months later I probably would have had much more bargaining power due to the economy collapsing. You should be able to get a good deal now, he is probably desperate to get the cars off his lot. Where in CT are you from?

He was my friend's mechanic, ill try to find his information for you. I think you can also take it to the nearest Acura dealer and they can give it a quick check for a small fee.

yea the pleather in the TL is really shitty... but if its within warranty spec i think theyd do u the favor of replacement or fixing or dying or cleaning it up a bit.
