ASM vs. SSM

Is there a huge difference between these two? I want to get the type-S spoiler but it comes ASM...my car is SSM...will there be a noticable difference or will it be fine? Its hard to buy a brand new painted spoiler and strip it down and have to paint it...so feedback please

Someone here bought the Type-S lip spoiler and they had the same problem as you.. ASM vs SSM - if I recall the person said it's pretty darn close just a little darker; but plastic takes the paint differently than metal anyways.

Yeah it's mine BUT I have an 06 and it's all ASM for me............

From what I understand SSM is a bit darker - blue tint to it

ASM is a brighter silver - no blue tint............

(Read that here on AZ a few months ago)

not much i asked the guy who does my paint n he compared it on a spies n hecker paint machine and said the actual silver is the same...the pearl n metallic flakes they add is more to the mix than SSM
