APRIL: Acura Posts April Record and Third Best Sales Month In History...
Torrance, Calif. 05/03/2004 -- Acura sales of 16,438 units were up 9.2 percent, setting a new April record and marking the division's third best sales month ever, Acura announced today. Year-to-date sales totaled 62,009 vehicles representing a 21.6 percent increase versus 2003.
The TL performance luxury sedan was the top-selling model for the seventh straight month, selling 6,711 units and posting its second best month ever with sales up 37.0 percent compared to last year. Year-to-date TL sales jumped to 25,331, up 41.8 percent over 2003.
The TSX sports sedan completed its first year on sale by setting a new April record. Up 29.0 percent, TSX sales of 2,367 units shattered the existing record of 1,835 set last year, and marked its third best sales month ever.
The MDX luxury SUV had its ninth straight record setting month, selling 4,770 vehicles to eclipse the existing record of 4,720 set in April of 2003.
"The strength and depth of our product line has led to the largest first quarter increase of any luxury nameplate and record monthly increases in spite of an uncertain economy," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president, sales.

Geez, that's a lot of sales for such a crappy, inferior, problem-riddled, POS, ugly-stepsister-to-a-Bimmer made-in-Ohio poor quality car. Acura must be doing it with smoke and mirrors.
And mind you, there are no turn signals on those mirrors.

Why is it then I see 4 '04 Maximas for every '04 TL in my area. And I've only seen 4 '04 TLs in my immediate area since march (when i bought mine).
But I'm not surprised by the numbers though. I get numerous inquiries about my TL. Especially from BMW 3 series owners who are looking at trading in their older 3 series. Many have told me that the TL is just better bang for buck. And strangely enough... for the TL's rarity. In one of the BMW's words: "Everyone's got a 3 series these days. this is the first time I've seen the new TL.". I agree. TLs are rare here and BMW 3 series are all over the place.

Zeuser,
The reason why no-one ever sees TL's is becuase they are at Acura or BS dealers on ramps/lifts getting their EL-42's checked/swapped/re-balanced or whatever
TLGator- Obviously I am kidding

I like having a rarer nicer car anyway.

Thank you Acura, for making our country a better place to live. First you give us the car, now you assist our drooping economy with your headliners.
Amen.

The Ac is back! Sorry, my jokes aren't as good as BJ's.
Wasn't Acura aiming for sales of 60k/year? They're 2/3 of the way there after only a bit more than 1/2 the year.

i for one have a problem of judging a car by its sales....cuz if the amount of cars sold is positive related to how good a car is.....american cars would beat out all european and japanese cars...which..apparently...not..so...in my ...very...very humble opinion..

IMO, no matter how truth it can tell, it's the interesting stuff.
