anyone else with paint problem?

my 3 week old car...maybe 4 has a nice new haze over it. Sherwin Williams gray shop primer and latex white to be exact. We paint large objects outside at work and if the wind is just right (or wrong) and/or someone is in my parking spot when i get to work i enjoy a weekend of claying.

not sure what kind of answers/responses i expect, i guess i just needed to vent.

thanks

I've done that to myself in my own driveway....

I've got several hours of bonding time with my clay bar as well...

don't want to cause problems, but does anyone know the legality of paint spraying outdoors?

Call your county code inspectors office, anonymously.... They will tell you all you need to know... Depending on the exact paint you are using/it's hazards and your shops location, what you are doing is more than likely "not legal". A better way to say it is it's not environmental safe/responsible.

I turned a buddies garage into a paint booth one weekend and painted his Alfa Romeo.. (Sacramento California) Two days later it was obvious someone didn't take to kindly to the red plume of paint fumes/particles coming out of my modified exhaust fan.... The Sacramento Code inspector paid me a visit.. He read me the riot act and informed me of all the laws/codes I had broken etc.. I got a severe warning with a final comment of: "don't make me come back here"....

Be safe!

The title certainly is misleading.....

Do you wear respirators and hand them out to anyone who is in the area????

I can't imagine that being legal but wouldn't you be shooting yourself in the foot by turning in the people you work for?

Not sure if I'm understanding correctly; and
this might sound corny because I'm high, but I saw a case on people's court w/ judge Milian where a painting company was air spray painting a house and damaged the neighbors car. The painting company ended up losing because they were still negligent of damaging someone's personal property......dont know if this is relevant but wuteva! LoL

Let me tell you about overspray. Bought a brand new 06 tundra limited. Day I brought it home I claybarred and Zaino'd it. Took it up the next day to Auto trim to get the clear bra and window tint installed. Came back to get the truck right at closing time and it was not done. Thought that was weird. They finally pulled my truck out of the shop and I noticed water dripping from the mirrors. Asked them if they had washed it and why as I had just detailed it. Said that the business next door had repainted their building and didn't warn them and they covered my truck and 7 other brand new cars with white overspray. They tried to wash it off but there was still a bunch on it. I was pissed.
Truck was only 2 days old. As it turned out the truck was lemon lawed 2 weeks later so I got a another brand new truck with no overspray. Took it back to get all the same stuff put on at Auto trim. Manager said he would gaurd the truck with his life and it would not sit outside at all while it was there. So in the end all was good in the world.

i had something kinda similar happen to me yesterday and the day before. Of course i detailed and buffed the car the past weekend. But one of those guys that fixes scrapes decided to paint a car right next to mine and covered my car with dust and then i walked out and he was shooting the car with paint and the wind was bringing it right to my car. I moved it and the next day he was back spraying a car right next to mine. Lets just say i wasnt happy. Luckily i didnt seen any overspray on my car
