Anthracite Plasti Dip on AM 6MT

Wasn't that fond of the OZ wheels that came on my TL, seemed too "busy", plus they had some pitting from the brake dust. Decided to try plasti dip and their new AM color, not bad IMHO. The prep spray they sell is awesome too. I used simple green and a pressure washer with ok results, used their spray and a cloth and it was night and day difference. Even better than the wheel cleaner I bought at the parts store.

This shot was with bright sunlight, up close the colors actually match fairly well. Only took two cans of Anthracite and one can of glossifier. Hides the pitting as well.

Overall it works, saves buying new rims for now, or the cost of powder coating them. We'll see how long it stays...

Thanks for the before pic. I think it looks 100% better with the darker color.

The darker color looks better, but theres no hiding those rims.

True, for the price involved it hides the pitting and works for now though. I have the money to do anything I want to the car but it's taken 20 years for me to wise up about blowing it on things that aren't necessary. I could have gone back to stock but one was bent. Once new tires are needed then I'll revisit the rim issue.

I don't like the stickieness of the glossifier though, heard of a few trick to fix it. Might just spray it with clear since I don't plan on changing the color for awhile.

Looks sharp. I didn't know they had an AM color now.
