Another molding TL, and very good Anthracite color.

I have the same color combo...didn't think I'd like the look w/bsm, but now think it's OK.

I think the anthracite with BSM looks great!
If you compare 2 cars side by side, the one without BSM looks kind of unfinished. I think it has to do with dark cars vs light cars...

In any event, nice pics!

Thanks! I think Acura did a fairly clean design for it, but I agree -- it probably looks less intrusive on darker colors.

Only in the fantasy world! In real world 90% of doors will hit your TL well above the moldings.

I suppose you can back this up with some facts? It is, after all, "real world".

Sure, Mike. Why don't we drive together to the nearest mall and start parking next to different cars. I'm in DC area and available any evening.

You made the assertion. I'm just asking if you have any basis. I don't think you could make the case that 90% of the cars on the road have doors significantly higher than the TL's. It certainly isn't the case around here.

Dark colors with BSM looks good IMO. Anthracite with bsm looks clean.

So what...side moldings

So what...if 90% of the doors will not hit the body side moldings?

If someone likes the looks of the BSMs...it does not matter if you do not block all the doors from hitting your car...I would be happy with 10% less dings.

I always try to park far out in a parking lot.

Lore,

Michael here, looks pretty clean, how much are the BSM and they do they come, pre-painted?

Mike Smeezy, (we still need to get together one day)

See Ya!

Well, that's exactly the point: "if" someone likes the looks. Even though it's hard for me to imagine anyone liking the TL with moldings over TL without moldings, my statements were not directed to those people. My statements are regarding the PROTECTION VALUE of moldings. And I pose that there is very little if any of such.

I disagree, my cars that have always had moldings, and are pretty dent free. If I see a car without, there are generally dings all over. Of course, if you park the car in the middle of nowhere in a parking lot, it becomes a vandalism target.

Looks nice. - cool color.
Are they glued on?

How do you know if they are straight ?
it looks like the front is closer to the grove than the rear of the molding... is this on purpose ?

I believe they're applied using double-sided tape. I didn't watch them do it, but I don't think any drilling is necessary.

Vffr1:

I got them for free, as part of my package. The salesman wouldn't give me the decklid spoiler so I settled for the BSM instead. I think I made out decently though (Navi for $1200 under MSRP + pro pack + all weather mats + BSM).

However, if you wanted to buy them I think you'd pay about $200 including install. They are pre-painted. You have to give them the color code (on a sticker inside your front driver's door -- on the car's panel)

I think the body side mouldings do look finished on the car. I don't think they offer nearly the protection of other side mouldings. The mouldings on my '91 Prelude were much thicker. They DEFINITELY helped. They didn't stop all the dings, but they helped.

I have been parking in the far corners of parking lots away from inconsiderate creeps with big doors. I hope that it doesn't bring vandalism as suggested in another post.

I've posted a picture here. There are a few more in my Gallery.
