Another Brake Pad question
I have an 08 TL-S
Dealer told me I need to change pads today and said it would cost 370$ for the front alone, which sounds rediculious
I see the RB ET500 pads are recommended a lot by other members. What else would you guys recommend, I dont need the extra soft OEM Bermo pads. I prefer less dust than the OEM's too haha.

DIY regardless of which pads you choose. It is the simplest brake pad change ever.
D-041: Brakes-front/rear caliper overhaul, front/rear pad replacement, brake bleeding, brake disc specifications, parking brake adjustment

BTW - $370 is about the going rate at the dealer. Pads $220-ish plus $100/hr labor. They will also resurface your rotors with an on-car lathe and that is a bit more time consuming and (resurfacing) possibly unnecessary.
Oh yeah, your other question. Racing Brake ET300 is another option; Rotora as well.

Thanks for the reply I will be following the DYI guide.
The ET300 looks better than the ET500 yet there cheaper??
Im not sure how they are distinguished.
I looked at the Rotara website they didnt have anything listed for years >2006
How do you feel about ceramics? any recommendations?

ET500 is more aggressive and will operate effectvively to a slightly higher temp. Both are street pads.
For the Brembo brakes on the TL-S any MT TL for '04 - '06 is the same.
For Rotora, contact site vendor Excelerate (Josh); For Racing Brake contact site vendor HeelToe (Marcus).
Also check this sub-forum for group buy pricing, etc: https://acurazine.com/forums/sponsored-sales-group-buys-10/
They both have brake specials in there.

The ROTORA H2 ceramic brake pads are a great alternative to the OE pads: lower dust, lower noise, better bite.

If you're running good, I'd leave 'em be and make SURE your lugs are tightened to 80 lb/ft.
I was in the same situation - pads worn, resurface rotors or not. No vibration/wobbble, etc. I did NOT resurface the rotors and they've run perfectly fine for the past ~17k/18k miles.

bud, just wanna let you know that when you put after-market pads on your car, it voids the warranty on the rotors, so if something happens to the rotors, you gotta come up with $ 700 to have the dealer replace them ,or you can buy a set and do it yourself, I've been there.....lol.

Thats fine, I actually got the price of the rotors from the dealer for shits and giggles. They charge 125 a rotor, and they charge 110 to turn 2 of them. I wanted to see if it was acutally cheaper to buy 2 brand new rotors for the expensive price they charge to turn them.
Sorry for later reply, think im leaning towards the Rotora H2 Ceramic
Also would I need to buy some pad lubricant aswell?

That doesn't sound right.
First, rotors are generally a normal wear item so they are not under warranty (in most cases).
Second, every car on the road that goes to Firestone, Goodyear, NTB, etc, etc, ad nasuem for brake pads would be out of warranty. That doesn't make sense.
Doing routine maint on wear items with reputable after market parts should not void your warranty. Using a non-Honda Oil and Oil Filter doesn't void the warranty. Using a non-Honda engine air filter doesn't void the warranty. Why would non-Honda pads void the warranty?
Now a dealer might say it does. But that doesn't make it true.

Advanced
Changed my '08 TL-S Brembo OEM pads (40k mi) with Hawk HPs.
Pad change only took 10min per side while I was putting on the winter tires. Very Easy!
Passenger-side pads were right down to the metal, but driver-side still had 1/16"-1/8" pad left.

I have not heard of any B caliper failures on gen3
Do FLUSH the brake fluid -I suggest every year to maintain best condition of all the very expensive parts of the ABS brakes
You can destroy a caliper from rust if no fluid changes done
wiki hygroscopic for details of fluid and moisture absorbtion
Most peope will be shocked by what comes out after 2 years since new~

RB made the ET series to work on their rotors- the rotors are super hard and eat other brands of pads- the ET works perfect on them--20k miles on 300s with RB slotted rotors on my 01TL and 5 mm meat left on them--min is 2mm
300 good for wife drives the car, 500 for you think you are a track day racer on the street

best way to reduce brake dust: (thanks to Patrick-ExcelDetail for this tip)
When the wheels are off the car- wash both sides of the rim
Apply 3 coats SYNTHETIC car wax to them and buff highly, synthetic has 100 degree higher melt point that carnuba
Now the scalding hot brake pad material cant grip the rim so easily as it flies past, keeps things much cleaner and makes the rims look great

I like CRC synthetic brake caliper grease,
it holds up well to temp, has many other uses and is found at most any parts store in a small tube for the car, or an $8 tub for many cars
