Am I the only one that didn't know this about the Sun Visors?

OK- So, in my presvious Acura, my sun visors had extenders on them. I was annoyed when I realized the '04 TL did not have the extenders until yesterday. I was moving some things out of my car and I banged the sun visor pretty hard. The whole visor moved and I said to myself, "Crap, I just broke my sun visor on my 3 week old car." Well, actually I didn't break it and realized that now the whole visor moves on the rod holding it in place. This is even better than the extender. Anyone else know this, or I am the last one to figure this out...

J RIDE 81 -
All you need to do is unhook the visor and pull the visor to the right. The whole visor will move. If it doesn't, then I really did break mine, but i don't think so...

Both the driver and passenger sunvisors will extend towads the center of the car. The only problem here is that they cover the rear view mirrow when extended like this, and also when extended they leave a large open space between the visor and the door panel.

Yep!

I just discovered something new yesterday.

If you leave your headlights on and lock the car by pressing the remote's lock button once, the lights will stay on for the preset time. If you press the lock button a second time for the confirmation chirp, the lights will go off immediately.

That may be in the manual, but I know I didn't read that section!

Regards,

leeherman: Well, part of it is in the manual, on page 76, middle column. However, it neglects to state that if you have the auto off time set to zero seconds, nothing will happen.

I keep my auto-off time set to 0 and I have never noticed this, so I went out to test it. You are right again. But it also will turn them on when you unlock the doors with the keyfob, which mine doesn't do because of the 0 seconds setting.

neorick: I did not see the part about turning them off with the second push of the keyfob, so would appreciate a reference to this.

Why is it a big deal that they leave a big open space when extended? The only reason you'd extend them is to block the sun which is (hopefully) not where the space is created. If the sun were still there, why would you be extending it? I'm not sure why people complete about that space that is created...

Because the road we travel is not always the straight path, so when you go around a curve or turn a corner, the sun doesn't move with you, hence the concern about the open space.

Not sure why you guys are confised on the sun shade extension covering the rear view. It wasnt really meant to be used this way. I find its most useful when the sun is over my left shoulder while driving. the route I take to work has lots of due south travel on it, so i get light in my window all the time.

I swing the shade over to the driver's side window and then extend it towards the back of the car to be more in alignment with the annoying light. Being tall the seat is almost all the way back when I drive, so this helps.

This is how it was probably meant to be used.
