I wake up to this....

Somone hit my car
!!!
Its in the body shop....I should get it back in 3 weeks.
If there is a postitive side to this, my decklid spoiler is on its way, the body shop will be installing it, along with paint matching my grill, and possibly painting my emblems black chrome.

Ouch. I'm kinda glad I live in a dead end street, but that sucks. I've seen way too many accidents like this. Hope insurance covers that as well. AND hope whoever did that gets whats coming to him/her.
How did your neighborhood sleep through that? Someone must have heard it and looked out the window. What a nightmare! You never think it could happen to you.
Last month some Biiaiaiaiaitch slammed 70 mph into my dad's brand new 2006 Mercedes E350 4matic while I was parked on the SHOULDER!! I was like WTF!!!!!!!!!!!????? I was well away from the highway with hazzards on. Didn't matter though, she fell asleep. Freak accidents happen. The Mercedes saved my wife and my life but my dad's car (didn't even have a fingerprint on it) was TOTALED! You can't trust the other drivers out there. They are soooo irresponsible they can even hit PARKED cars. These people should get their licenses revoked and let someone else do their driving.

ouch... sorry to see that.. hopefully it is just simple body repair and no frame damage.. did you car got push against the curb? BTW, you from San Diego? You should come to our SD meet.
rockyfeller: can't imagine getting hitted by a 70mph car into a park car and the crazy lady survive? what was she driving?

That's what my SUV looked like when a bus skidded into it in a snowstorm! 3k worth of damage, but my insurance covered it (municipal vehicles are not liable for damages, how crazy is that??)
My 1999 Civic EX had some kids sitting on it the day after I bought it (parked in the stret also). I asked them to be careful, came out, and they keyed up the whole hood! It didn't even have 100 miles on it yet
Really not cool! Good luck... THose pics hurt

Yeah...I would have thought somone would have heard something. But no luck. Yeah insurance is going to cover it as property damage because I was not in the vehicle when it happened. The body shop says there is no structural damage...thank god. But all I can do is hope for the best, from what it looked like the car actually hit the tire pretty hard, so I hope there is no suspension damage either. The quote to repair all of the damages was around 8k!
waacow: I don't live in SD but i live near. Im up in the Temecula area, def. interested in comin down for the next one though.
I am stuck driving an 04 civic right now ( a spare car of my family) and boyyyy do I miss my car already!
edit: No my car didn't hit the curb, but it was about 2 inches away....the car moved mine about 4-1/2 feet thougH!

Are they going to replace that 1/4 panel with new sheet metal or just straighten it and smooth it out with body filler? It will probably be filler which sucks on a new car.
Call around the local body shops to see if a car/truck has been brought in with a lot of front right damage. If so, go check it out and if it looks like the person who hit your car, call the police and your insurance company and tell them you think you found the hit and run vehicle. I am pretty sure they need it repaired professionally since they probably have body/suspension and possibly frame horn damage.

its definitely a truck or suv, you see how high that damage is? if theres no frame damage on the tl, its unfortunate, but there might be minimal damage on that truck...our cars our designed to crumple everywhere and anywhere until something hits that frame.
Im not sure how they plan to do it. I am going down to the body shop today to talk to the guy. Fortunately the owner of the body shop is a long time family friend, so he isn't going to cut any corners.
damn that sucks. i know quite a few people who have had their car totaled because someone hit it when they were parked on the street. happens a lot more than i figured it would. hope everything goes well with the repair.
The lady that hit me walked away with aome banged up knees but her Accord coupe was totally smashed more than my car. Her passenger side was destroyed and had someone been there they would be dead or at least would have to be extracted. My car, the interior was completely intact. Not even a window cracked! That's Mercedes for ya. OK nobody throw something at me, but we've owned Mercedes in the family for 25 yrs and they are the best.
Couldn't afford an E65 yet so my TL will do for now.
The point is though, the road is so unsafe that people will hit non-moving objects and I think it's so pathetic. Let me not sound like I'm exaggerating here. Last year my cousin's aunt got in an accident and pulled to the shoulder of the highway. She was on the phone to call her daughter and a driver slammed into HER at 75mph. She landed 150 ft away on the other side of the highway DEAD and her leg was somewhere else.
You think these things could never happen to you. With my experience last month on top of this I am now paranoid of passing traffic. I hope everyone can learn from all these sad stories and be careful out there!

Holy hell! Someone had to have heard that happen. My TL was recently involved in a hit and run as well. My neighbor heard it happen and she said the sound of the impact was very loud; the most damage my car sustained was only a cracked taillight! I feel for you bro.
