"new feature"

ok guys i was just at Acuras website and was looking at the 06 TL...was browsing around and came across "interior features" and it said "side window defoggers." I just got my 06 TL a month ago and I dont see any buttons for a side window defogger nor do I see the defogger strips on any "side windows". Anyone know about this ?

I think it is refering to the small triangular vents on the corners of the front dash. They are directing air to the front side windows when the defroster is activated.

where is the button located? i wasn't able to find it. the only button available is the mirror switch and next to it is the heater on/off for the mirrors.

Its called the 'auto' button on your temperature system. I noticed when it kicks on it sometimes vents the windows first.

I wonder if you mean the side rearview windows; the ones that are capable of tilting down when you reverse. For my car, there is a button next to the L-off-R toggle switch. Pressing this button defrosts the side rearview windows.

This could be it also, but he states it was an INTERIOR FEATURE. They both sound & do similiar things.

I guess this is a gimic since its not actually a "defogger" like the strips we see on the back window.

It's defroster.

I don't think it's a gimmick. It kicks in with the front defog so you can see the sideview mirrors instead of wiping it off with your hands while driving.

But yeah, there's no switch/button solely for this function.

EDIT: I just re-read your original post, and I think you have defog and defrost confused... defrosters are the ones in the back with the heat lines, defog works with air.

my post about the rearview window should be corrected to say rearview mirror. I noticed it this morning when I reread the thread. I was more awake.

Technically, it could be an interior feature since the button to control the defrosters are inside the car.

I've used this feature once and I remember seeing it defrost in the shape of an oval shaped ring. Maybe there is a ring of heat bands behind the mirrors.
