I posted this in the MDX forum and didn't get much of a response. I am looking at pulling the trigger today and would appreciate any thoughts from the knowledgeable people in this forum. Thanks!

Trying to make a decision on an 06 MDX with 50,000 miles. I currently have an 08 TL and an 08 TSX. When gas prices went up I thought I would try the two car approach for gas, but it has been a real pain not having an SUV for traveling and towing. I lease my TL and could get the 06 MDX, which has navi and dvd with a purchase instead of lease for about the same payment. My TL only has about 15000 miles on it, but I would really like the extra room and comfort for trips. I am about 6'4".

any thoughts on purshasing this MDX for about the same payment. I know I am a little upside down in the TL because of the lease, would adding so many miles, purchasing, and keeping the same payment be wise?

 

I think after all the fees you will probably not save any money. Taxes, doc fees, registration.

If you really want the MDX get it, but make sure it's in good condition.

 

^^ i agree with him... i dont think i would do it, u also downgradin from a 08 to a 06, try the new MDX

 

Obviously a new MDX would be much more money. I may not do it and thanks fot eh advice. The MDX is Acura certified with a warranty if that makes a difference in opinion.

Like I said my payment would stay the same, or even go down a little. The big difference is I would purchase the MDX and am leasing the TL.

 

trading in a lease may not be as easy as you think.

 

trade the tsx and get the 06 mdx

 

Get what maximized your marginal utility, if the MDX is what you want.. get it!

 

If you do get the MDX, when it's all said and done, you'll own it. Sounds like you want the MDX for travel and towing (which you cannot do now) and the TSX for a daily driver with good gas mileage. I'd say go for it. 50K miles is hardly anything.

 

I say sell both the TL and the TSX as well as a kidney as a downpayment on an X5 M.







In all seriousness though, get the MDX. An 06 MDX is still a very nice ride, and it sounds like you get all the goodies. Plus you get to own it, which always beats leasing.

Well I bit the bullet and got the 06 MDX!!! Very nice car and glad I did it. I have bought 8 cars from this dealer over the years and traded many leases before the lease was up with this dealer and it has always been a piece of cake. Thanks for all the input.

 

Tell me you traded in the TSX and not the TL.. lol. Glad you got the X.. I have an '03 X and I'm very happy with it.. sometimes I fight with the gf to take the X to work instead of the TL.. Welcome to the club..
