Accident!!

I just totaled my car!!!! I have to wait a few days for the official word from the adjuster. The accident was bad and my fault. I was not paying attention when i crossed into an intersection. I swerved to miss the truck and hit a telephone pole straight on.

My Car: 04 TL Anthricite, Camel, 6mt, Navi, Front, Rear and Side Spoilers

Sorry to hear this, Nick. Are you OK physically?

Did the airbags deploy?

Lucky to be alive and only a few litle scratches. I do fell like someone beat me with a bat however. as for the airbags yes they deployed because the front end was nearly taken off the car.

Glad you are OK. If you are in serious pain, though, you definately should follow up with a doctor. It can take injuries a while to show up. And as you may know, insurance companies are THE DEVIL so you want everything documented asap.

I've been in two accidents in the past that were my fault for being a bonehead and not paying attention. Fortunately they weren't nearly as serious as yours. The part I had a hard time dealing with was feeling like an idiot, feeling like I was a bad driver.

Well, it happens to the best of us, man. Just be glad you are uninjured and insured

What about the telephone pole? Doesn't anyone care about it?

j/k... hope you don't have any serious injuries and hope your NJ insurance doesn't go up much higher than it already is...

Enjoy your cars with any luck the insurance will give me enough to order an 05 just like it. Hell I will take another 04 if they can find one!!

Happy to know a TLer is in good health. What speed did you drive in the pole to total it?

I will find out tomorow if it is a total loss. The people at the impound lot all think the car has no chance. The accident was at the intersection of Rt 77 & Finley. I was going between 45 to 50 MPH.

It's good to hear that you're OK.

From the sounds of it, the damage sounds bad.

I too know the pain of a damaged TL but at least I got my deductible back; I was declared not at fault.

Keep it safe.

Glad to hear you only had minor scratches.. Good luck with the adjuster as I'm sure it will take a few months to settle.
Add that to the list of Acura's that save lives.. I personally can atest to this as my 89 legend saved my life..

That sucks we have all been there. I am just glad to see someone admit the accident was at fault. Most car forums it is the brakes, the tires or something else. Good luck with the insurance.

Glad you are ok Nick, but I really can't wait for the pics.

What is it about a perverse need to see the same kind of a car that I have totalled?
Few weeks ago I found a short video clip of 04 TL being crash tested. Must have looked at it 20 times in a row..... freeeky...

That Sucks..

Glad you're ok.. guess the 5-star frontal crash rating is pretty acurate.

Hope you weren't playing with your navi while driving! I catch myself doing that way too much

Antracite Drivers

What is it with us Anthracite TL'ers always getting in accidents? I think the color is cursed!!! You can see pix of my crash by searching CRASH!

Hope you get a new TL soon

Mid DEC!?!?!?! Hop across the Hudson and get your TL from NY. As soon as you get your check from the ins. co., you can buy your TL off the lot over here.

Just totaled my '04 TL too...

Well, I can definitely attest to the 5-star crash rating... I survived a horrible accident this week with only a few bruises, airbag burns, and plenty of sore muscles. Just glad to be here, and I have this car to thank.... it took a beating for me.

Doing 65+ on the 405 freeway in Los Angeles... this is what happens to your TL when someone tries to come in your lane and you swerve only to hit a disabled vehicle on the shoulder:

I must say it held up very well... esp. the passenger compartment. However, after the accident it wouldn't even power up for the insurance co. to get the final mileage...

Now I wait for my '05 to arrive...

Another Anthracite.

If this keeps up, a fully working Anthracite is going to be very rare.

damn, it got messed up pretty bad. Good to see you are fine. The inside of the car held up real well, very good for a high speed crash.
