Unhappy the ACCIDENT.

Well folks I guess I'm the first one to say.. but my new NBP TL is in the shop today after running a red that I though was green (the green was actually the left turn lane) but I got struck on both sides by two mini-vans. One pushed me into another. Insurance is going to sky-rocket and luckily it's not totaled. Or according to Ball Acura it's not. But anywho... here's the pics. A sad, sad day for me and my TL.

OUCH!

I'm very sorry to hear about your accident. I hope you're unhurt. I know I'd be in some emotional pain (provided if I had no physical pain) if it were my car.

Sorry to know this. You're safe thoughehich is more important. It could have been fatal. What was the reason you ran through Red? Just curious.

Good thing you are okay. Hope you get back into a TL soon. I hope the insurance company don't get to you too bad.

Sorry to hear about the wreck. I had a whole debate with my friends between accidents vs wrecks...of course its an accident because you it is not intentional, etc etc.

If the car is totalled, will you pick up another TL? Sneak into the junk yard and strip the car

Sorry to hear about the accident but I'm glad you are OK. If this is your first accident in a long time and you have no tickets, your insurance may not go up as much as you fear. I hope everything works out for you.

How are the other people in the other vehicles? They must be mad at you. I know I would!

You might be better off if they total it. My 03 TL-S looked perfect, but was never the same after post-accident repairs. Wouldn't hold an alignment, rattles, squeaks, windshield leaks, it just wasn't the same car anymore. My car was frame damaged. If yours isn't, hopefully everything will be ok for you.

Umin: hopefully that won't be a problem. as for the other cars.. one mini-van drove off had his bumper pushed in and scratches on the front. the other, the passenger side sliding door and door was smashed in. so they had to tow it. i think i pretty much got the worst of it. i was the only person in my car.

moreace, I read that. What I meant was, why would he think it's green when it was for left lane only. Wah he preoccupied by a phone, eating etc. I was curious about the reason of of his preoccupation.

Wait for his response, but I will speculate

When the lane to your left starts moving, turn left signal only, sometimes you don't think. You see green out of the corner of your eye and the cars next to you starign to go. If you are thinking about soemthing it is easy to go. Almost done this a couple times myself.

If he was preoccupied maybe there was a beautiful car next to him that he couldnt take his eyes off. My guess would be a 2004 Acura TL Athracite/ Quartz/ auto/ nav. Wow, now that car is a looker

Vehicles are replaceable/fixable. Glad to see that you made it out alive and are able to post your experience.

Best wishes on recovery (your TL's too).

Glad to hear everyone was all right....BUT, your TL doesn't look that bad. I stopped by my dealer, here in Dallas, to have some parts installed and saw a truly trashed TL. Service advisor said the person got sideswiped by a construction truck. Airbags (both side impact and curtain) deployed on the passenger side. Both doors were shoved in about 5 inches, passenger side fr & rear tires were both blown and the rims were gouged, fr right panel was ripped off as was most of the bumper (got to see where the air intake was at). Manager didn't have an estimate for damages but guessed around 7k if not more.
