^people get 300 to a tank, because they drive all highway.
and those window sticker numbers dont mean shit in real world driving.

lose some weight from the TL.
do the ultimate cooling mod.
always use 91+.

WOW 180 a tank....dude there is something wrong....i think your car came with a 7-8 gallon tank....

even when I do 100% city, i end up getting 250-260 a tank...usually i get 340-350 a tank city+highway and all highway I get 450+ a tank....

Do the throttle:
body coolant bypass
check air intake for serious clogging
check spark plugs
do seafoam
do ucm
change driving habits

do you have a manual or auto ? i use the sports shift 100% of the time and I shift under 2500rpm and coast to stop lights....

^well, he didnt bring any real data into his whine.
he needs to list his avg mpg with his avg mph.
65% city and 35% frwy is not a real way to tell if anything is going on with his car.

I'm happy! I'd never trade my v6 MT for a 4 cyl auto (manual maybe...). My TL gives me better mpg then my Prelude did (probably cuz my lude was an auto and tl is manual).

Either way I'm happy, v6 power, 4 cyl fuel econ and a much bigger car with actual rear leg room and trunk space!

its a TLS automatic. i always put 91+ (sunoco).. or sometimes 92+ (wawa gas) avg mpg is 11 ..avg mph is 18.. just regular driving.. around 40 mph speed limit.. i dono why it says 18..
there is nothing in the car or trunk thats weighing it down...i dont let the car idle either..
thanks swoosh n justin space for the comments. do u think the dealership is gona help me out with this kinda problem? (it has extra warranty until 100k) paid 1200 for tat..lol
im gona fill it up one more time with 92+..il be really glad if i get 15 or 16mpg..

to be honest i dont like that data since its been so many miles people dont reset it....i reset that every oil change....so for example if you have 30K on your car and the mpg as 18 and your driving on the highway and getting 28mph the car would still say 18mpg since its average....

I think 65% highway and 35% city means a lot....which means in 15 gallons you went ~10 gallons on the highway and 5 in the city and you should get 270 (27-28mpgx10 gallons) and 75 (15mpgx5 gallons) which is 245 miles per tank....

the OP mentioned 65% city and 35% highway so:
15*10 + 27*5 = 150+135 = 285 miles to the tank....

Also am assuming 15 gallons as am hoping he doesnt run until he is completely dry....

I doubt the dealer can do anything....also the data you gave out how many miles have you gone in the trip computer ?

How many miles on your car....?

I would seafoam it and do couple mods I mentioned and reset the trip computer to see how much you getting....

the worst i got was 13mpg, that was in the winter when i did alot of city driving + idling + heat on the whole time. and an average of 15 mph

edit: i think its time for people to stop throwing stupid numbers onto this forum and start posting pictures

i call BS.... that or bonnhew your TL needs to be serviced and checked out, or do the mods that justn said.

i used to deliver pizza, yes in the TL, for papa johns. we delivered to a 6 miles radius of the store. i averaged about 70-75 miles a day 95% city driving. which means alot of stop signs, stop lights, driving through neighborhood streets real slow to find addresses and whatnot.

i always averaged 19-21MPG for each tank. i would have to fill up about $55 every 2 days, if not 2 days than 3 days. i spent about ~450 a month just on gas but NEVER had a mpg average of less than 18! on a full tank, i can drive about ~270-300 miles til the orange gas light turns on. even when it turns on, i could still drive a few more miles.

and this is coming from a person that was a pizza delivery driver in the TL for 3 months! (don't work there anymore lol) ALL THE MILES WERE CITY, STOP AND GO TRAFFIC.

how in the hell are you getting 13mpg.

--

also next time you pump gas. go to your mid and go to your trip computer and reset it. if you don't know how to reset it, hold the "RES" button down for about 5-10 seconds and your trip display will reset back to 0 for mph, mpg, miles driven, and time.

each time i pump gas, i always reset the mid so i know exactly how many MPG's i'm getting for each full tank of gas

well its simple if you have taken math 101....its not by miles but time....so if it takes you 30 minutes to get to work and u spend 10 minutes in the city and 20 on the highway you do 66% highway driving....

again the reason i go by this is coz people dont reset their trip info.....

wtf is going on in this thread? OP I was just about to suggest replacing your O2 sensors. the sensors in these cars are questionable...

I looked at the mpg est. of the the 06 Si and it's 23/32. Hell a TSX of the same year gets that. Not to mention members here get that too on their TLs. I agree about turboing, it's expensive to do and also expensive if not done right. IDK how you're doing $80 fillups, I'm guessing since you're young you drive A LOT. My last car was a supercharged 2000 Mazda Millenia, Millenium Edition. The Miller-Cycle wasn't made for performance but for MPG. For the year it had comparable MPGs to a 4cyl and yes I'm a student myself. Higher education isn't cheap but I feel you'll do better keeping the TL. When gas was $4/gal here I was around 55-60ish a tank. And I also live in FL and today I looked and premium is 3.80 something. My point is, I'd never get into another car payment for the sake of saving gas when I'm not going to save more. I see you spending more more money in gas on the Si (smaller tank = more fillups) to pretty much get the same amount of range your TL gets. IDK how many miles are on your car nor do i know how you drive it. I had bad O2s on my last car and that really took the mpgs down a bit. I lost about 4-5mpgs/gal.

But going from a more powerful car to a smaller less powerful car and they both get comparable mileage just sucks in my opinion. This is what I've noticed. People look at pennies instead of dollars @ the point. So what if gas goes up 10 cents? It's NOT that big of deal. If you wanna know how much it'll cost per mile BREAK it down, do the math. If I see a jump of 50cent-1.00 then yeah it'll add more to fill up, but I also see how much I get a tank. It's funny, cause I know people who've traded in their MIDSIZED cars (many had 4cyls) to save gas and downsized to a compact. Not only are they getting comparable mpg's to their previous car, they're also at the pump more and usually it adds up to them spending MORE. Keep the TL.

I dont complain much about gas cause I know I need it. I like how people complain about 3-4 bucks/gal for gas but drive jacked up trucks with 37s on them and caked with mud or sports cars. I've done the $4/gal thing an I'm sure I'll do $5-6 in 10-20 years or so. I've heard grandparents talk about how gas was so many cents to the gal. I'm like WOW wish that was like that now, but paying for gas ISN'T the biggest part of the annual income. Now for us younger kids a $400 check for 2 wks and it takes $60 to fill up, then yea it's more significant. I'ma good budgeter so I make things work. This is the new norm, just like how It was 2-3 decades ago. Give it 20-30 years and we'll be talkin to OUR grandkids about how gas was $3-4 dollars and how WE thought it was expensive then. It's more to it than looking @ pennies on the dollar. BTW I definitely don't know financial status but the people i know who complain about gas, they are the ones who'd you call "keepin up with the joneses" and care way more about WANTS than NEEDs. How the hell do you let your electric bill get $800 but can go clothes shopping and clubbing etc? I know plenty of people who pay their bills JUST enough to keep the utilities.

Ah yes $2000/yr for insurance, man those were the days. I had to pay for EVERYTHING. Insurance, car payment, maintenance, but I did it. Makes me appreciate things even more.
