I really don't know why chad is arguing. Everyone unanimously thinks he's overreacting. A stupid joke has been blown out of proportion, even though it had nothing to do with chad in the first place, but apparently it should have.
it's ok, chad. Next time lawns come up, we will be sure to mention you.
Aaaaaand now back to or regularly scheduled BS...
Peanut butter jelly time! Peanut butter jelly time!!

It will get stained, but probably a much darker brown color, to match the rest of the house and deck. The house is green with dark brown trim. Deck is the same, more or less (pressure treated green and dark brown trim).
I found that that bench idea on Pinterest it's pretty easy to build, actually. Just takes some patience. it also doesn't help that I don't have a truck. It will take 40 2x4s to build and I can only haul a maximum of 14 in the Sonata, the home improvement work horse

I questioned a joke that wasn't funny. Then was labeled jealous. That's all I'm seeing.

i like that island he built. I looooove those big pieces of rustic wood, made to look into a cool piece of furniture.
Wood gives me wood.

i have a newfound love for reclaimed wood too
something about wood that has history, that has been around the block, it has character
I tried to build a bench like that years ago to go over the bed for my GF.. it was SO craptastic because I use braces rather than actual joinery... it was a nice first attempt.. (not really)

You mean like metal brackets? Yeah, it always seems like it will be super solid using brackets and then it never is. Depending on what I'm making, I'll use them in conjunction with something else. It'd be nice if I had true master finish carpenter skills. I'm just a DIYer with a slight OCD complex that I try to satisfy as best as possible.

yeah shit-tastic corner braces... it was a dumb dumb. move. it sounded like a good idea on etsy or instructables or wherever i found the instructions..
Some dovetail joinery would have definitely made it much better

everything!
oddly, we did the exact same thing this weekend. Yesterday, I had an uneasy feeling all day...was so hot out, didn't have anything I "NEEDED" to do but kept thinking of what else I should do with my time to be/feel useful. Sat on the couch with Beck light most of the day...then took some pictures and ran a datalog on the blue car. I have such a hard time relaxing. Which really sucks, actually.
That might be the funniest post you've had in a while, Adam.
Best worst back handed compliment ever!
I think it's mainly cause I'm always talking about lawns and cutting grass and being hot and sprinklers and weed and feed. My blades need professional sharpening too...apparently it's leaving this burned haze that's the equivalent to split end hair. Sucks.
I did think of you though, cause now that I've cut for a month with the new mower, I inadvertently have kinda striped my yard where the tires go since I always follow the same path.
I swear I picture Ed and Soph in modern family when you tell a story about your wife and you...

Don't worry about it J. Nothing negative about you there trust me. The 'joke' didn't make a lick of sense so I questioned it. But once the mob turns against you here there's no defending yourself.
It's ok though! I haven't used to ignore function in a while!

i thought this one was much better!
I swear, you're either going to entirely love retirement, or entirely hate it. Why? Because you'll either have so many projects going that you'll be poor AF, or you'll wake up every morning with a big smile and not being able to wait until breakfast is done so that you can get cracking on the next job.
I think we all just picture J, every morning, with a pair of scissors trimming his front lawn. And then painting the mail box. and then trimming the trees. and then repouring the concrete walk. and then replacing all the fascia on the house... before it's 7:15am and time to leave for work.

Adam, that's why you leave the humor to the humor committee...when you're not trying too hard is when you really hit us with some gems.
Chad, no doubt, man...I thought you'd be proud of my accidental striping.
Don't get all fired up now...you've been playing nice for so long now...enjoy your audi updates and gen(ital)eral banter!
Where's our video at!?!? I wanna see some AWD hooning!

Justin, trust me...when the time comes, that's happening...if I had to remove the deck for anything...I'd be all over that...but I'd probably get a quote for powdercoat since you hve to step on that area of the mower and it needs to be robust.

I actually don't think I've ever seen your mower. I honestly thought you had just a push mower, or some shit
