I originally fucked up the C and U in the Acura badge when I rebranded my generator as a luxury "energy generation system". But even my boro ass realized it was wrong and fixed it. Ol' boy that fixed up that RL must have been hitting the pipe pretty hard to let that slide.

Oh, J! You might appreciate this stupid CSB...
So on Friday, I installed a new light switch.
Backstory: about a year ago I replaced the porch light at the front door because the old one was a piece of shit. Well, I got the wicked smaht idea to buy a photocell also and wire it up so I could leave the light switch on and the light would turn on and off as necessary when it was dark.
So far so good, I get the fixture in, install some
LED lamps and wire up the photocell at the fixture, roughly where I think I want to install it. I wait for it to get dark and when it goes on, shit starts freaking out. The lights turn on which floods the photocell which turns the lights off which triggers the photo cell which turns the lights on which.... yeah. Like a dingy motel sign flickering away at like 180 HZ.
I got back up on the ladder, wrapped the photocell in electrical tape and declared it a job for another day.
Fast forward about a year and that fucking photocell is still hanging out of the fixture, wrapped in tape, and I keep thinking "I should figure out a place to install that so it doesn't look like a moth and lizard rave party out here."
So I was sitting around last Wednesday and a thought popped into my mind. "We should get fucked up" I thought. And it was a good idea. But then I had another random thought before I could start drinking the Everclear... "I wonder if instead of addressing the photocell, I could find a light switch that was programmable to control the porch light?"
"Does such a thing exist?"
Sure as shit! Jeff Bezos and his Amazon had it in my hands 2 days later. A 7-day programmable *light switch*! And I can enter in my Lat/Lon and it knows when dawn/dusk is and can adjust its on/off time appropriately each day. :mindblown.flv: This is truly the future!!!
Anyway, back to last Friday. It shows up, I pull the old switch out. I zap myself on the hot wire once and think, "dummy, that's hot. we need to be more careful".
I install the hot lead onto the new switch and tighten it down and get zapped by the new switch and think to myself "okay dummy, we should go throw that breaker now". And I do.
Get everything else tied in and ready to test, go back out, reengage the breaker and go play with the switch. Works.
Much success. Very electrician. So light switch!
Start to put everything back into the electrical box, mashing all the wires and shit like you do when you're putting switches or outlets back in the box, and zap myself a third time. "Mother fucker."
But it all goes back together and stuff and now I don't need to flip the light switch in the evening or mornings anymore like some guttersnipe. Leave that shit to the immigrants.
And some day, I fully intend to remove that taped up photocell... Just not today.
The End.
