Hey, Jeff! You still owe me photos...

Yeah, I'm done with Honda/Acura as well, for the foreseeable future. I'll keep driving the 3G until it dies, but after that.... Shiiiiet.

Just pisses me off... Noted some marks with Nissan, I've never seen Honda touch. For example:

1. Forged Wheels. Nissan/Infin has been putting forged wheels on select trims for well over a decade now. Since at least 2003. Honda? The only car to ever have forged wheels was the original NSX. Yay.

2. DOHC V6- granted, Honda's SOHC V6 is more fuel efficient- I equate it to 2 less cams, less shit to move- but the only DOHC V6 honda ever produced was in the NSX. Yay. Nissan has been doing it for years. Hell, even the Mustang GT has a DOHC V8 in it, these days. Honda still treats it like its the holy grail. They never worried about making DOHC I4s... No idea why they won't touch the V6.

3. Dual intakes and throttle bodies- Nissan, again, has been doing it for years. Honda? Never.

4. True dual exhaust on select trims, for the V6- Nissan has been doing it, again, for years. Honda? Never.

The list goes on. There is no sport or thrill in any damn H/A products anymore.

that's because the people that buy Honda/Acura's dont care for that stuff, much.
we do, because we're enthusiast.
Honda is fine with selling vanilla cars to the masses.

You say that, yet, Nissan is in the same category as Honda when it comes to making cars. Infinity is in the same category as Acura.

It's not like these two are mutually exclusive of one another.

Nissan makes plenty of vanilla cars for the masses. Yet they do shit like the [ugly] Juke Nismo, for those who want something a bit more than vanilla.

It's pretty clear Honda is still riding on its coat tails from yesteryear. Look how many tout Honda as being the most reliable car brand out there still, which hasn't been the case for a decade.

Nissan has VVEL... At least in my Nismo, according to the dynos, it makes power all the way to redline, like VTAAAAAK does. It sadly doesn't have the loud VTAAAAk crack though, at whatever rpm it kicks in at. Maybe an intake would change that

Benz has some sick looking cars these days. If I was a baller, I'd get a Benz. If I was a semi baller, I'd get an Audi- yes, BMWs are better/faster/whatever, but there's less Audis on the road, which appeals to me.

yea the only one we could probably afford is the C300. Went looking at them yesterday, still very nice but a 4cyl benz to me just seems stupid and payments of 6-700 a month... yea no thanks lol

no they are no longer riding on the coattails....
true a couple of years ago.
but with change of ceo's, its very clear they want boring vanilla cars.

you cant say that for Nissan because they are putting cool "race car" things in their bread and butters
like the stuff you pointed out; wheels, dohc, etc.

to be honest, on a stock Honda you generally don't hear it all that loud either. Intakes really make that nice audible sound. Makes power to redline... What else do you want?

DUDE...the story behind that car is my mom's ex paid me to park it at the end of the block with a FS sign for him.

by day 5 of doing it for him, I started "exploring" the neighborhood...
day 6 I come flying around the corner punching it and hitting the e-brake with my left foot and her and him are standing in teh middle of the street. My shoulders sank...I idled into the driveway and got punished for a week. Then he convinced her to let me buy the car from him for $600...

and then the story begins...

Jeff, would you replace the TL with something new, or keep it on the side and get a new daily? Or get a new toy and use the TL as a daily?

The TL I can see myself keeping that forever for my summer car.. Its my first nice car and its modded so it means a lot to me.... Once I get a job ill finance/lease a daily. Then save for another summer toy like a S2K or something fun down the road

Winters are too rough here and I already freak out if bugs get on my front end on the TL so its prob best for my OCD that the TL remains a seasonal car

Nissan is not without flaws...but, at least they attempt to cater to SOME of the demographics that enjoy a sports car. What does Honda have now? Nothing...and the NSX JUST finally arrived. But, outside of taking 3 mortgages for it, what does Honda have?

Oh right, RLX with upgraded tires. And an RDX that apparently gets chicks.
