Honestly though, I have less time than I used to, and this place got kinda toxic at some point. Not blaming anyone in particular, just the whole forum mob mentality was draining and went from being fun to exhausting.
Decided to spend my time in better ways and I don't regret it.
Plus now I'm TL'less so I'm only tapping into you guys opinions to get ideas for cars to buy. Temp car until summer will most likely be a '99 Buick Century (GM 3.1L, intake & head gasket been replaced already) with 52k miles on it. The GF is thrilled (she is not) about getting to sit in an underpowered boat. But hey that's what $1500 maple leaves can get you in a pinch. Two owner car, 85 yrs old man then some guy my age who collects and fixes old cars (he has a pristine 89 Chevy Caprice).

Still can't see damage pertinent to the rear ending.
It seems as though the hit and run was probably a minor damage. Maybe $2K to fix the bumper up. Maybe there was a crack in the bumper cover. Maybe paint damage. Nothing you can't fix.
But then the guy caused enough damage on his own during the chase and rollover to total his own car.

Basically what happened is an old BMW with New Jersey plates got rear ended by a Mercedes CLA. Hit and run and chase ensues, BMW crashes due to CLA's superior handling.
Who knew a lease spec Accord was a better handler at the limit than a hood ride 7 series.
