Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio.

No H-Town. Yet (I saw with my fingers crossed, knowing they'll just disappoint me on purpose).

As much as I love In N Out, I can't justify the drive to Austin for a $5 meal.

It's good.

It's better during the time of year when they have green chile to put on the burgers.

The rest of the year, when the countermonkeys have *forgotten* that it was in fact A Thing™ previously, they just give the ol' .

And I make due with jahl-a-peenos.

No franchise. Corporate owned only. (I've looked into it.)

Only w/in reasonable highway distance to the distribution center for freshness.

franchises suck.

most of the time, the owner of the franchise is only making out 30 or 40 grand a year.

it'd be better to take a corporate job at $40k with benefits than to slave away at a restaurant

In-N-Out is delicious fast food I'll give you guys that. Had some under scorching sun @110F in Vegas, no room to eat inside, sat on the patio. Instantly got sun burnt, the gulls that hang around the place looked like they've seen better days... it was all worth it.

But you do get a surly attitude and likely a good helping of spit.

So there's a little bit of silver lining.

I don't get this mentallity. Sure, the owner is saving a dime by selling less of a product than he should, but by the end of the day, if I feel I'm getting the ripped off and not getting what I paid for, I simply won't go back. So by the end of it, the owner loses a customer permanently. Is it worth it?

Adam, I appreciate your concern and inquisition.

No. It is not worth it. He has indeed, lost a customer because now I go to the other one that is equidistant with the Asian lady and German dude that piles on the black olives like they were free.

as long as the food is quality, Gee, I feel like we've had this convo before.....

as long as the store serves quality and has quality staff, people will come back.

But you're not going to stop going there.

Because you get hungry for a sandwich, it's close, it's good enough. Sure they short you a piece of ham and a slice of tomato. But Becca with the gauges in her earlobes is pretty cute. And when she puts the sammy in the toaster she sort of stretches and you can almost get a peek at what's going on.

And you get a soda and sit and watch. Because everyone sits and watches. And Arjay pockets that extra dime saved and you go home and complain on the internet to car forum.

But you still go back.

There are two places near my work I stopped going to, just because of that. There's a burrito place all over town here, but the one near my work is ridiculous. Normally, when I get their "mucho" burrito, I'm stuffed. At this place I'm left thinking "hmm... should I get something else?"

While I can agree with JS on the quality and good service, this is a fast food joint that has turned into a franchise here in town. The service or quality doesn't exactly vary much.

There's a limit on skimping. The owner has to be able to skimp just enough so the customer doesnt notice. Maxxx profit.

There's 3 Taco Bells in Quebec only. I think this speaks volume of how loved they are.

Want to do a project on my house, just don't know what I want to do. I should stop being lazy and tile my master bathroom, but I seen some nice 12x24 tile that I'm a big fan of. (Maybe I'll do that in my kitchen)
