fyi; i stuck a 100k + used engine into my car and I aint even bothering with stupid in tank cleaners, or what not.
change oil and go.
use premium fuels and go.
thats basically it to keep an engine healthy

I am looking for a recommendation for a cleaner that is stronger than seafoam but more available than B-12 to clean my mother's Pontiac Wave.
AFAIK, it has only seen regular because that's what recommended and likely what is the cheapest. Idle is a bit rough, last year I cleaned TB by removing it completely but it needs a bit more than just TB.

I think this mystery person would be better off doing more frequent oil changes and using premium gas (do a number of fill ups) , even if it's not required for the car, to clean everything out.

B-12 is about as strong as you can get.. maybe multiple treatments with another. What do you have available to you? Can't you just order Berryman's through Amazon?

I'm with JS on this one. I don't trust those cleaners. They are some seriously harsh shit.

btw.. running high additive fuels that keep valves and injectors clean have found that while it does a decent job of keeping things relatively clean on the top end, have left excessive deposits on the piston.
