I can't speak for other brands, but I've always been told that Honda filters are better than aftermarket. I've never looked into it, I've never checked, personally I don't overly give a fuck. They work and do their job and if my civic, which I sold at 400k km ran it's entire life on them, I'm sure they're fine.
I can't speak for Hyundai, or the likes, but I bet it's like the argument with oil. Everyone has their preference for what they use.

Oh yes those are good. Approve of that, if you can get them cheap then go ahead. Stealerships here are usually not worth my time & money.
I should check what's the pricing on those for my next oil change come end of winter. Maybe it ain't too ridiculous for once.

Don't be a dummy, PB.
Just because FRAM manufactures it, doesn't mean shit. They're built to Honda specifications and not the same, regular, orange FRAM filter specifications
Honda outsources to whoever is the cheapest and willing to accept the contract. If Honda is ok with it on millions of cars out there, I'm sure they're fine.
That being said, even though FRAM filters are considered shit, I've yet to hear of cases of people suffering from tragic engine failures due to the FRAM filter. You also can't look at the beater pieces of shit using those filters that end up dying because those engines could be failing for completely unrelated reasons.

Like you said, it boils down to brand allegiance/preference.

awww... that was quick
but i guess it is :pb: and :taco: we're talking about, we should be used to it ending lightning fast
why can't the rest of AZ be this cordial?!
Moral: whatever the fuck works for you.
The way I see it, whatever the fuck we do, we're still better than 95% of the people out. I'm sure there is at least X amount of people that have never done a single oil change on their car.

I'm pretty sure it was mentioned by you this past month...
maybe it was in jest, maybe it wasn't. We'll never know when we'' tick you off
we've all just become accustomed to clenching our buttholes when we see you on and are talking about wacist stuff.

Yeah...I figured I could clean up and reseal the old amber black ring ones I had done a while back. I tried sealing with butyl around the edge (like a tail light) but it leaked pretty badly. Shouldn't leak now but dammit, the lenses aren't in the best condition either. I should have left well enough alone. my clear ones have a better external lens on em.

I use butyl all the time to seal, no problem.
