Yeah, the last trip I did, we got a Kia Soul (back story, I had the option of Soul or Versa the time before and went Versa. This time I was like, yeah gimme the funkin hamster mobile- keep that Versa turd) and I was remarkably impressed with it. Not a *great* car but far from horrible. And impressively optioned for a stripper-rental model. Plus, with every box checked it only would come out to $20-something thousand. B+, wouldn't not recommend for a college car or something.

I hope you didn't smear it on the walls... A pro knows that the real humor lies in the long-game. You gotta poop it out on a bed of TP and then carefully set it up in the drop-ceiling tile.

Give them a prevy-wink on the way out and someone will rush back to see what's up. Oh, nothing... Thought he would have Basquiat'd the stall but I guess not. Then weeks later they're like, WTF is that smell and where is it coming fr...; oh god, why is the ceiling dripping and is that... Flashback to the winky-guy in the Transit van. Or so I've heard.

Here's a cul0 special for those tank style occasions:

Start with an Upper Decker. After you plop the turd in the tank, go ahead and wipe yourself up and toss the TP in the bowl. Go ahead and use as much as you need- part of the setup is having something to flush in the bowl.

Now, with the tank lid off, see that little refiller supply tube that's clipped onto the float tube? Unclip that and route it out to the front edge of the tank, pointing towards the front of the stall.

Gently set the tank lid back on so it holds that tube in place. It should be positioned so you can just barely see it. Not enough to actually notice it, but enough, you know?

Now. Leave. Just walk away (bonus level is to punch yourself in the nose and bleed on that pile of TP in the bowl to draw attention to it).

That's the setup. The execution is when someone walks in and sees the inconsiderate mess in the bowl. Better flush that. Oh shoot, why is the toilet spraying me down like a drunk in the holding pen? How do I stop it- better take the lid off to see why it's... what the fu... why is there shit in here? And the tank is still spraying me. Argh, NEMESIS!!!

I call it the "Upper Decker Looks Like You Pissed Yourself Don't You Hate Life Right Now?" trick.

Allegedly...

Thanks for the great tips as usual!! definitely a new convert to Berryman's... Cheaper and better?!? approved
So it was partially the injectors? Glad it helped.. just a can a year / 15k miles should be enough. Maybe even less if you use a high additive gasoline like Shell.

The beauty of an upper decker is you catch them by surprise. Amateur hour.. plus pulling the inner supply tube will be obvious as the tank is pretty noisy, even slightly open. More likely than not, it won't directly spray them, or it won't splash the intended area to make it embarrassing.

Upper decker pwnage is easy. Lay a solid upper decker. Turn off supply line. Wait for said victim to go to the restroom.. when they see the carnage, they'll flush / panic. My experience is 8/10 people don't know shit about valves or anything mechanical. As they panic, but before they can leave, you knock on the door.

Gather a queue or at least a crowd. When they leave be like.. oh shit!!! wtf?!! You need Jesus in your life! This mother fucker clogged teh toilet, then walk away.

Similar. Chains are tamper proof, lil restaurants not so much.

Love the combo. I should pull it if I get bad service somewhere.

Idle was fixed with cleaning of TB but I think more so the MAF, that thing was filthy.. Berryman fixed the sluggishness the car has been having...
I think the Berryman in tank raised it up to about 750 rpm as opposed to ~650 without it and ~450 to dying with no maintenance ...

I've converted them to Chevron for the last 7 years or so.. (Regular though ).

Maybe should switch to Premium /redtext

I'm not going through with buying the Legend. I feel slightly deceived, to be honest. Here's why (I copied the below from the email I sent wifey):

1. Alignment was off
2. Ebrake likely didnt work. I yanked it all the way up with zero resistance. Might be lose, might not even be attached. Wtf.
3. The body colored side molding had been hit numerous times on the passenger side (with clear dents in it) and touched up with touch up paint.
4. The hood was repainted- I could see a subtle difference in paint color between the hood and the fenders, plus there was no swirls in the clearcoat on the hood, like there was on the fenders
5. Seller said he's having some "minor" issues with the front brakes. He saysthey feel like they stick, or "slightly grind" when starting to drive. To me it felt like it was theengine. No idea what the issue could be.
6. The car had a sunroof visor which over time wore through the clearcoat ever soslightly on the roof.
7. There was a minor paint scrape on the rear bumper, all the way through the white paint, exposing the black plastic underneathe.
8. The leather was in worse condition than I was expecting. It looked flawless in the photos. In reality, not so much. Granted, leather wears, but this thing had no one sit in it for the first 10 years of it's life and conditioning leather helps preserve it for a very long time. With only 55k miles on the car, it looked like the leather went through 125k miles.
9. Some very minor dings here and there on the body. Not bad, but c'mon.. it's being touted as a "flawless" car.
10. He's firm on his price at 12.4k. I'd consider it at 9k. Otherwise, no dice.
11. The body colored side molding on the driver’s side looked off. As in, it looked like it was going in/out/in/out away from the door. Wtf.

I'm sure I could find more issues if Ilooked, but by that point I was already turned off. For a car that was in amuseum for the first 10 years of its life, and on the roads for the last 11, I was expecting better. Granted, 11 years is a long time, but even my TL looksbetter than that car up close and the TL has more kms on it.

I'm still notconvinced with why he is selling it. He claims he has two other cars and thisone only drives about 1200 miles per year, but why he wouldnt keep something soincredibly rare, especially if he's asking 12k for it, I don't know. I think that "brake sticking" he mentioned was likely more related to the engine and I don't want to find out what the issue is. The engine just didn't feel... right. And I don't know how to explain it otherwise.

Something seemed iffy with the brakes also. He claims he replaced the front brake pads and brake rotors for Brembo blanks with Hawk pads and he figures that’s what is causing the sticking/grinding feeling (um.. no.), however, when I looked at the rotor, it had some deep grooves in it… it looked like it was used for 50,000 miles, not 5,000 miles. Something wasn’t adding up.

As far as legends are concerned, I’m sure this one is in better shape than 99% of the ones still on the road, but it’s far from what I expected. I would never consider it a garage queen unless I dumped money into it, but proper body work isn't cheap and neither is OEM leather, if you can still even get it for that car. All other problems weren't necessarily all that bad, but again, don't tout the car as being flawless... because it's not.

I'm thinking last owner didn't take care of it. This car has a known past and until then it was pretty much flawless...

Skip!

There's a clean Legend running around here, although not coveted coupe MT but whenever I see it I'm like aaaahh. Likely would go for much less, too.
