The 3G Ramblings & General Discussion Thread (Trois)
Well, lets not go that far... I wasnt wearing pants at the time and I was just procrastinating some homework and figured I'd give it a shot. I didn't expect it to come out right.
Classy is, um, a stretch. But thanks anyway!

It gets damn expensive
If I start drinking at about 11am (hey, it's camping), by 7pm I can go through 12 light beers without issue. Remember, I'm a friggin' giant. Believe it or not, but I likely would have little more than a buzz.
I also seem to metabolize alcohol at a faster rate, thanks in part to being a diabetic. Yeah, yeah, diabetics aren't supposed to drink, but hey, you only live once...

@justnspace did you get sexually molested on your weekend excursion? Don't hold out on us..
Sigh... decided this morning to pass on that Legend. I was talking to the owner last night, after convincing wifey. He says he has someone down from the US trying to get the car back to the US, but until that happens the car is still up for sale.
Last night I was dead set on it. This morning, not so much. If I didn't have the TL, I'd be all over it, but I feel I'd be passing up the unique driving dynamics of the Miata for similar, if not the same driving dynamics of the TL. Why the hell would I have essentially two TLs?
I tried swaying wifey into letting me buy it as a 3rd vehicle for myself this morning. The look of death I received let me know right away that I should know that's a bad idea.
So long story short, sounds like it'll likely make it's way back south. No idea where though. Didn't bother asking.

It's a great car...but it's another 2 door...and it's old...sell the TL and get it, or don't. My buddy is passing too...he's got the ITR and another car now and wife's car so he doesn't want it sitting outside.
There's no way I could ever drive the Legend in the winter. I have a feeling by the 3rd winter it'll start showing signs of rust, just like every other Legend around here... granted it would only be the start, but still... rear quarter rust makes me cry.

I know. I even considered using the Miata as a DD, but it gets uncomfortable when wearing a big winter jacket. That, and the upgraded cooling would cause it to never actually warm up in the winter, unless I ghetto rig some cardboard in front of the radiator. But still, that doesn't help with problem #1.

If I bought that Legend it would be a garage queen.. I'd drive her regularly but only on clear days and just for cruising, polish her up once I got back.. after jacking off in it, of course.

I guess the other issue is I'm not sure what kind of maintenance will be needed on the car. I have no idea if the T belt was ever done, and going by mileage, it's supposed to be done rather soon. If it hasn't been done before, it's a 21 year old belt.
I also have no baseline to go by to see how tight the suspension is. Replacing bushings and what not is a pain in the ass and pricey. I can't even get parts from the US anymore due to the brutal exchange rate. And that's the other thing- it's 21 years old. I'm not sure how easily available parts are for that thing, especially since no other car used that particular engine (C32a2, I believe).
