so my sister is complaining that the old Accord is giving her issues so she's going to give up on it and buy another car. She's claiming transmission issues and at ~260K , i'm pretty happy it's had a long run. I'm considering a manual swap into it just to keep the car around and running but am wondering is it worth putting any extra money into it or if I should just set it off to pasture.. It had a good run .. already has a rebuilt title so selling might not be worth much.. Maybe parting out would be more ideal.. An old jalopnik article sets the 6 Speed swap parts list to about 1500-2500$.. Might be better off just junking/parting/selling it and call it a day.
Ehhh.. in hindsight, I don't think it's going to be worth it to do the swap, she already overheated the engine once, the cat is gone and replaced with a welded in straight pipe..
I think it's time to just see if i can fix it (drain and flush ) myself or part it out.
i think you should do the swap only if you have plans to keep using the car.
if no intentions of using it and will be sitting, then obviously dont do the swap..

you two have horrible advice... i'm definitely going to be following flippy's:
I've been mentioning to my wife that I want a V1, but my ass is cheap. (When you read that out loud, it just doesn't sound right) I think they sell for around three hunnid- four hunnid.
Wasn't there a member here who was good at doing AT to MT swaps?
Yeah, i should reach out to him.. he'll just do a damn good job and then i'll sell it to another member... (not an AZ member obviously because it's not an Acura, but maybe a Honda-Tech member )

Put some ugly ass wing or tail lights on it, and I'm sure a Drive Accord member will buy it.
seemingly so after this weekend it'll be two years running! traditions!

Don't throw the Accord away. It's from an era when Hondas where good
i wish i could mang... i wish i could.. i loved that thing.. i may just keep it around a little longer and wrench on it without doing a swap to see if i can maybe clean up some filters or something.. i'd hate to junk it.

a few months ago I was there, and they WERE sampling beer/wine
Wellllll I could buy a pressure washer, because my raise went into effect, but I need to buy some Alkie-hol for the party this weekend. Hot dogs, and buns too. I may wait until the end of the year when I get that check from Costco. It's my first year with the executive card. I think I've spent at least 3k at Costco this year. That's because I take my parents to Costco. Win/win

Edit: Forgot we went to a little gathering Sunday night so I had a total of 9 beers over the weekend.

Executive for the win.. it's really a no brainer.. it's $55 extra on top of the regular membership but iwht the 2% dividends on all purchases, you should be able to make that up in no time. Also even if you don't spend enough to get the $55 bucks back, they'll give you $55 anyway.. I'm not sure why more people don't do it...
actually i know why, it's because Maff is hard.. All you need to do is spend $2750 in a year at Costco to make up that $55.. hell i almost spent that much on the garage door alone...
To be honest, I'm not one to binge drink anymore... I do enjoy drinking beers... a little too often (lol), but it's casual drinking, like on King of The Hill.
It's considered a hard night if I finish off a 6 pack in an evening. And that's over a 3-4 hour span. I wouldn't even be close to blowing over the legal limit.
related:
we were BJ's members for years at the townhouse, it was across the street.
We did Costco executive one year too, but it was to inconvenient to go 5 miles out of our way for it for gas and to buy stuff.
We do Sam's now cause it's on my way home from work and it's good enough.
