I feel like death today. And I don't know why. I'm not sick. Just drowsy and feel like I'm dragging a boat anchor behind me.

I got stitches on my finger a few days ago. Driving me bananas. I can't bend my finger or go to the gym because I can't hold anything with my left hand at the moment

Was gonna make guacamole in the evening. Decided to sharpen the knife blade first. Knife slipped. Tried catching the handle. Hit the handle instead. Blade came twirling around. Cut my knuckle open like a hot knife going through butter. Dropped knife. Blood everywhere. I couldn't believe how much this sucker was bleeding.

Was forced to go see a doctor yesterday. Apparently work doesn't think that paper towel wrapped in electrical tape is a safe and effective bandage. Ended up getting three stitches. CSB. But not really.

Is it really considered a knife if it doesn't have a handle?

Personally, I think the waffles are some of the nicest wheels Acura has ever put out. I just WISH they came in 18s, but it's not a deal breaker.

I love it when I see the waffles with a set of really good tires on them. Especially when they're the widest tire the waffles can safely wear. I like all dat meat sticking out over the rim. Looks aggressive as F.

What would be the widest they could handle in case I really do end up rocking these

I actually don't know, LOL. 235? 245? I'm sure you could easily find it on AZ. My summer tires are mounted on 18s, so it's not the same case.

As a rule of thumb, I've always noted you can move up one step without issue from the stock width.

stock size is 235. I'm 99% sure you can do 245 without issue. Bigger than that? Ask the tire shop installing them. They'll let you know one way or another.

First set was 245/40/18, then 235/40/18 once I lowered it and realized I was rubbing in the back, even with rolled fenders. Curse you 20mm spacers! Then when I was stupid and went insanely low, I threw some 215/40/18s on there and hated the ride. I didn't like the stretched look, but I loved how I could be that low and have absolutely no camber.

I'm not a huge tire guy but on 8.5's why wouldn't you want to run 255's or wider if some are suggesting 255s on stock 17x8 rims?

Wouldn't 255's also protect the A specs too?

Or am I just an ignoramus

I never ran 255s because I had spacers and was lowered as well. I didn't like the sunk-in look so I kept the spacers and avoided wide tires instead. When I got coilovers, my front fenders ate my 235s.

Instead of raising the vehicle height, I was stubborn and just bought narrower tires, hence the 215s. That way the ride height stayed about the same and I could actually turn

Hmmmm.... Got it ...

And yeah turning is important..... Sometimes..

I have some Ichiba 15 and 20 mm spacers sitting in a box waiting to be installed..
And a set of 8.5's waiting to be repaired/refinished have rubber mounted and installed..

Don't plan on lowering too much if at all..

Just trying to figure out my options..

Thanks for the feedback!!

So if I am understanding correctly if I run 255/40/17 it will be beefy and close the tire gap but still have the sunken in look and if I use spacers to try to fix it, itwill only make the rubbing worse..not to mention lowering with coils..damn back to square one

Looks like Tyler was just barely rubbing. You could likely do a 10mm spacer and be fine. Maybe even 15mm.

The beefy tires look doesn't change the offset of the wheels. So yes, still sunken look, however, slightly less.

You can still lower your car, but Tyler was pretty dang low. You could likely drop your car 1.5" and not have a problem.
