The TL is harder to drive and more stressful than current high performance cars.

ok wth... Chad, I'm calling you out. Sorry, bud.

Not even two weeks ago you said you hate the styling of the new Mustang. Now you're saying you love it. dafuq? You've done a complete 180 on that car.

Anyway, I think the new mustang interior is very nice. yes, it has hard plastics, but consider the price point of the Mustang vs an Audi. The styling of the interior is very nice... the materials... well, like you said... lol.

I'm looking forward to my future Mustang. and then I will mow every pedestrian down that I see!!! Bwa ha ha ha ha haaaa!!!!

The one thing that really irritates me about that car, even the GT350, is the horrendous looking coolant reservoir. What an eye sore.

I didn't say I didn't like it. It just has it's flaws. I like the tails but don't really like the massive oval trunk shape. The front end has grown on me but it's still a bit...bulbous. When I squatted down and looked at the lines from the side for a while though they are nice. Those humps on the fender/hood are aggressive.

If judging by looks I'd give the mustang a 6.5/7. The S5 a 9.5. However tear away the sheet metal and the Mustang is a beast for the price.

I wanted to not be blind to one vehicle. And I couldn't come up with many I'd want in my price range. S5/Q50S/Mustang? So I thought I'd at least go test drive one.

Either way, yeah, they're a pretty cool car. I wonder how the GT350 will do on the used market.

I'm surprised you don't like the track package wheels. I think they look pretty good on the Mustang.

I had to go back... I did say they are ugly af... Lol

Then I read all the following posts and I still agree with myself.

Edit: And the splitters/lips everywhere in person really made it more appealing to me.

If the price was the same, the warranty the same, I'd take the S5 4 times out of 5. But they aren't. That's a whole lotta car for the money.

I need to find a manual S5 to test drive.

also consider that the S5 has been out in its current shape for a very long time. It's about due for a refresh and you know the new body will be out of this world, as any Audi is when it comes out.

You sure you want the old body when a new one comes out?

New Audi means waiting +3 years. So that means 2020/2021... Lol

And the age doesn't take away from the fact that I love it's current form.

J loves 3G TLs...that's why he got the best one he could. Still a 12 year old design...

2008-2016 essentially the same.

2013's got a MCR with better lights and they removed the v8 from the coupes for the supercharged 6.

I could technically buy an older v8 coupe and swap tails/headlights and you'd probably not know the difference.

The engine in the new S5 will probably be amazing. Twin turbo 5 cylinder? 400hp? Just guessing.

5 cylinder engines are interesting... I'm assuming it would be an inline 5 cylinder (would a v5 even work?).

Factory horsepower doesn't even matter... if it's got forced induction, just a get a chip for $2500 and you'll gain 150hp

Ohhh Audi manufacturer warranties transfer... Interesting.

Well the TT-RS's have the turboed 5 cylinder...

5 cylinders are like Audi's autocross racing heritage...

but again, crazy pricing...
you get a LOT for your money with the mustang, Chad.

I test drove the "new 5.0" 3 times back in 2010 when the 2011's started showing up. I'll own one eventually...even if it's a fixer uppper. Now that the newer ones are out, I don't like the old 4.6's at all...but do love the 2013's and up...

New body style...OOF...hard to not love that, imagine when roush/steeda put together a lip kit to bring the nose on the front down and more substantial to take care of the visual overbite.

That car is amazing to look at...AMAZING.
I love it.

I'm just cheap and happy right now.

J.

and to be fair, you just said you weren't sold on design from some angles IIRC...you never said no way no how would you ever get one.

Plus, let's face it...we're a bunch of guys that think that what everyone else is doing is fuking stupid, unless we start doing it too and then it's the best thing ever.

Off the top of my head:
roof spoilers
window spoilers
aftermarket wheels
tl type s

the list goes on for stuff I once knocked and then tried and loved.

I already did. Posted last page.

I'd want blue / white / black in that order. Black interior. Manual.

Performance package a must. Nav a must. Preferably the leather Recaros. Audio a plus. Keyless crap a plus.

That blue one had it all... $35k.

here, nose down...visually, absolutely incredible IMO...so now the car has all the show and the go. where do you lose?

Kevin, the rear facing seat would be hard to fit behind a tight 2 door car front seat!

It's mainly the rear end that I don't really like J.

The fender to door to fender lines are also amazing. That's what I was trying to say earlier.

What is that? Comp orange? Edit: Ruby?

what, it'd just be an odd shaped V

a 5 cyl engine just seems odd... there must be a lot of dampening required to keep the thing from shaking...

an inline 6... 3 pistons up, 3 down, 3 up, 3 down.

an inline 5... 3 pistons up, 2 down, 3 up, 2 down.. shake shake shake

Competition orange. I really like that color. I'd prefer it with white racing stripes, but that's not available. I think I'd maybe get it without any stripes and then add white ones on my own after. There are plenty of oem/aftermarket options for stripes

after doing some reading, it turns out the front end of the GT350 is wider than the regular mustang. They utilize different fenders on the front to compensate

That's a bit simplistic. You need to account for firing order, but in general an I-5 is a bit smoother than an I-4. It has some higher second and third-order vibrations than an I-4 but it's not as violent as you may be making it out to be.

but I dunno.
