So Chad...you're not finding any other Audi's to meet your criteria and the ones that are close are $40K (so almost 25% more) and you've got the guy telling you the deal fell through and come buy my car.
I mean, why are you playing games? It's not about ego, it's business. The other guy was probably more adamant, willing to hit him with a deposit and more local. It was fair game...
The fact that he kept his word with the other guy and didn't try to start a bidding war and was straight with you about how the deal was going would make me want to deal with him MORE.

I agree J. Thanks for your input.
I called him earlier. My buddy is going to see the car at 6 tomorrow. Already sent him the address.
Whomever said Puerto Rican was right. His last name is actually Syrian and his grandfather moved from there to Cuba. And then his father from Cuba to Puerto Rico.
He actually seems like a nice guy. Kinda dumb...he straight up said he doesn't even pay attention to the car. His English is so-so. But he feels very genuine. Loves Lebron...
So yea...buying this car assuming my buddy says it's a go. I'd love to go get it this weekend as I have a four dayer coming up. But that's probably too short notice. And the weekend after that I have tickets to Florence and the Machine in Cleveland. We have had the tickets for a year. And I kind of don't want to miss it because she literally never tours the USA. So...not sure what exactly is going to happen yet. But I'll make it work.
Chad(Pinder)!
Good luck, man! If your buddy says it checks out, would you consider giving him a small deposit to call it yours so you can feel confident about buying the plane ticket?
Ironic that he's Puerto Rican by way of Cuba! They're both such a proud people that normally there's a big rivalry and they hate to be confused with each other. Easy way to tell them apart is if they're eyebrows are done better than your wife's...they're PR...if they love F150's, Guy Harvey, Fishing, and talking really loud...Cuban.
Well you won't recoup any of the additional cost you put into it at this point.
HFL bake seems like it could be a good Fix/$.
Otherwise it seems to be a "that's what happens around this age" state. You could fix it if you can't leave well enough alone (cough, cough, J) and need to get it in the best physical shape possible before selling. Some people are like that ().
I mean, spray them both with Plastidip and call it a day.
Yes I am a lot like J. I'll probably detail her twice before a buyer takes her. I'll probably change the oil and MTF too. Just because plus I already have the filters and fluids. We've come a long way I'm not going to push her out the front door without her underwear on...
The HFL fix is fine. I'll give it a go. I've done the same thing to printers so no problem. But the cupholder... kind of irks me selling with an issue like that. Lol
When I sold my truck, it was like 14 years old and showed it. Clear coat was shot on the hood and roof, an oopsie on one fender and one bed panel. Trim pieces missing.
But I just couldn't bring myself to list it until I had a chance to go over it one more time and get it as correct as possible, within reason.
And that's how I learned to get dog hair out of headliners.
Then it got shipped off to a gold mine and it's probably full of crusty old miner farts now so none of it mattered. But I had to.

I'm trying to help a TSX bro out by gently suggesting he not make multiple posts about the same thing and you come in all "tactless-wonder" and just hit him over the head with his follies.
No wonder you're not married. Not the gentlest lover, are you?
