Awesome rolling shot!
That's exactly why I'm after them. I know I won't get SERIOUSLY into this, but I'd like to take some cool pictures every now and then. Even though they're outdated, I'm sure that with some practice, I can take amazing photos with a used camera I picked up for super cheap. I'm not actively shopping either, just kicking the idea around. How cheap do you think I could find a D60 or D90 with a lens (or two)?
I like the D during. Okay the button location thing makes sense. I love going into best buy and playing with all their shit, then going and buying it elsewhere.
canon 60D, 90D
nikon D90, D7000
There you go, you like the "D" before, or after?
I'll tell you with fair certainty, it's not the "MENU" that is so different, it's where the buttons are in relation to on the fly changes etc...I don't think that my point and shoot Canon really gave me any great advantage on being able to work the DSLR.
Best bet is Best buy, play with both and see which feels more at home in your hand.
And which layout is most intuitive for you...biggest thing you'll be playing with is ISO/F Stop changes constantly.

the point was the location of the D...but since it's always behind you, I can see why you'd be confused
No doubt, man...no doubt. I actually thought that too, now you can tell them you know a 17 year old that's used traditional photography too (Austin, Undying Dead Dreams).
No doubt, man!

Quoting images so that they come to the next page.
Dude, these pictures are really great. I love the palm beach one and the bonsai garden one. Sidenote: I had a bonsai once and it died, pretty quickly.
And because I feel like it come recent work.

Those are the nikons, and you can do a similar search for Canons. Pretty much everything you'd want.

Vlad, definitely listen to Austin and Jeremy...they have a ton of experience with D-----SLR
I just recently started taking pictures....the only and ONLY suggestion, I will give you is....play with your D------SLR.....
Tyler (penguie) gave me a great tip which is "if you get comfy in Auto modes, you will never use the Program or the manual mode"....thats why since the first day I got the camera, I have been shooting in Manual mode....
There were 3 videos that really helped me with my camera:
1> Nikon D3200 setup
its a longg video so take your time with it....but this is only a one time watch...
2> the triangle...aperture/iso/shutter speed
I keep going back to this video from time to time to better understand the concepts...
about what camera you want to go with...+1 on personal preference....
I got great reviews from Tyler (penguie) on the D3100 which he has...I found a spanking good deal on a D3200 package so went with it....

I won't. The difference is that he's a dick and I'm actually really awesome and know everything about everything that you guys don't even know anything about.

a self entitled bastard.
he thinks because he shoots with a high end cam, that he is a pro.
Doesnt take criticism that well and lies.
so, once he gets a little critique on his photos, he'll edit them and upload the new edited photo to the same web location.
so, its as if his photos are always spot on.
but, we gave him those critiques

J, here's another example of a slow shutter ghost. Shutter speed was faster than Vlad's though, just enough to completely blur but still able to tell what it is.

Hey Austin, forgot to share this with you...
how's this for my FIRST set of rolling shots, while driving the S2000 and trying to figure out what to set my camera at to capture it.
LOL...not the safest way to do it, but came out okay, save for the damn dirty specs on the lens
