So, I shared this with asianspec, Miz awhile back...but, I hired a data analyst whose last name was Rachel V------ (it's a Caucasian last name). But, as I scanned her resume, her education was in India at a decent school and I'm thinking...okay...could be white but just born/raised in India. And, decent work experience too...

So, as a RARE exception, I called her in (that, and I make it a point to interview all women ), and she was . So, I'm like WTF...

She did end up getting the job and on her HR form, her last name was TOTALLY ...Apparently, the V----- is her middle name. So, I told her afterwards, "You know...if your strategy was to appear WHITE to get hired in a white world, in this case, you were LUCKILY hired by a who only hires Asian...you were SO LUCKY."
