Has anyone here ever had or heard of a kolache? It's a type of Czechoslovakian pastry/bread/doughnut? A new shop just opened up two blocks down the street here and they are amazing. Like super high quality semi-sweet hot pockets.

Today's lunch special is buffalo chicken and gorgonzola.

Decided to get the spark plugs too. Figure it'd feel good to swap them out again as they'll have 45K on them and it's too easy to change out while valve covers are off.

It blew up, then receded, and we're back..
When national news covered the West Texas explosion, there weren't many places to eat so many would eat at a little kolache joint there. After a few articles, I figured it would make it's way out again.

Mmmm..

Egg, sausage, bacon, cheese kolache..

Brisket, egg, cheese, potato kolache..

Jalapeno hotdog kolache..

Well that would almost be a suitable daily if it had AWD. I wonder how they are in the snow being light and RWD. I keep reading about how these things are torque monsters after a few mods.

It's not just the 135. It's the N54 engines in general. And they were in a lot of their lineup. The new single turbo, twin scroll, N55 isn't quite the same but still is amazing.

I'm not worried about the AWD. They are still fast as fuck and with the 1's short wheel base very nimble. Also weigh less then 3300 lbs I believe. I'll just rock a set of nice snow tires.

Downpipes, exhaust, FMIC, DCI and a tune and you could probably be at 450/400. $4-7k. A tune alone can make it damn near 400/375 or more. Another $2000 for modified turbos and you're looking at 500/450?

My friend is running 21 psi as her dd in her 135i. :x

A waste?! The logic and intuition might be a little burdensome and imperfect in some cases, but the xDrive is much better than Quattro or 4Matic. It can shift full power between axles.

They've definitely made their way onto my radar the past few months chad. Keeping it a daily (with AWD) with all the power and torque you can get for the $ would just sweeten the deal of owning one though.

Between the Cadillac we have and the Audi I just drove, AWD is DEFINITELY on the radar for me. You know...for the 4 days of winter where it dips into the 50's.

Seriously though, I've changed what I want from big displacement RWD to FI AWD in a matter of a week. It'll happen.

IMO

Quattro = performance
xDrive = conditions

But hey, to each their own. If xDrive is needed then just get an e90 335. Same engine.

Well, haven't driven all of them but I DID TRY and responsibly lose control with the S5 and absolutely could not. He had just put new tires on too, so that played a part.

That's because Quattro is win.

The car you had is my #1 choice right now. It's just not within my budget. And the older generation coupe isn't a sc v6 but a giant v8.

I could save for two years and then get one... :/ Lol

JJH: It honestly doesn't snow enough around here for me to want AWD the rest of the year.

What's wrong with AWD though? I mean why do you favor RWD? Don't most current AWD systems shift the majority of the power to the rear on take off? Is there a noticeable difference in feel?

Chad, I can 100% see why that would be your top choice. I got tempted by the color, flat wheel and possibility to chip. In hindsight, they were chipping it to make it go as fast as an RS5.

John, the owner of the car says he felt like the S4 actually felt more nimble.

I see a few S5's that are 2010's in the mid 30's. Not sure if that fits your budget or you'd want newer.

^Nope, totally in my budget. That's why I test drove one. And it was amazing. Especially MMi and the interior! It's just that NA v8 in the coupes is practically maxed out. I'd rather have something more tunable that gets better MPG. S5s are fairly rare too, so parts are expensive. So is insurance. I want the one you had because lights and sc v6.

AWD is great don't get me wrong. And if I lived in MI it'd be a no brainer. But here I'd rather save the weight, have better stock suspension options, less things to brake, less warranty items, and better suspension geometry.

Edit: People either go one way or another on this AWD topic. It's actually pretty humorous.

Supposedly that car was ordered in Audi Sprint blue to the tune of $2500 extra.

It's a prestige edition and had the special ordered flat bottomed steering wheel.

Has 18K miles and new tires. He had the LED DRL's set to 100% by the shop techs and also reprogrammed to keep them on when the signal is on.

His buyout on his lease was $51K, I believe. Let me know if that's feasible and if you'd like to get in touch with him. He works at a dealership anyway so transport could easily be figured out. But do let me know soon because he was told by his old Audi used car manager that they want to put it on their showroom to help him sell quickly.

and in case you missed it, look how great it looks on 20's with JUST the H&R Spring drop.
6th car down in the series was the car I was driving around, the one I'm talking about.
