If rockstar is saying it takes around 4 years to colour shift, I'm completely fine with that.

That makes sense though, because over time they would most likely lose lumens right? and the higher on the kelvin scale, the less lumens?

Shifting when breaking in and shifting after years of aging, I hope to some of you, are two totally separate things.

Why take my word for it? A simple Google search provides plenty of information.

Hey, whatever makes you right and look smarter than anyone else asking.

I don't give a fk what you call it. I didn't read it, I didn't guess it, I didn't hear about it from my cousin. I had the specific bulbs story is asking about, and 3 to 4 years later, they shifted to a more purple color.

From previous response, I would agree, you will not see a bulb turn yellower with age, shifting, and or breaking in. Unless, of course, Chad tells you otherwise.

Pick a side already, Anil. I give you sh*t too when you try and come across like a pompous prick know it all, don't I?

The guy HAS to be right no matter what. It's annoying. Yes, I point out when people are wrong. YES, sometimes that can be irksome. YES I can admit that, YES I can try not to, YES I can admit when I'm wrong. YES I can admit when I'm not the best at something.

Is it really so much to ask that others offer the same in return? What does this bulb do? His response should have ended with "I don't have experience with it so I don't know". Not twist things around to ensure he wasn't agreeing with me. Someone who has actual experience with it. I choose my wording carefully, almost always...I THINK, IF I RECALL, MAYBE, ASK SOMEONE THAT KNOWS. Most of the time, my experience dictates my advice.

AND lastly, if you scroll back up, the guy's sole admitted purpose is to troll. I specifically stated "new week, fresh slate let's drop it".

Just go read over at HIDP, story05. Don't take my word for it. You don't have to.

At any rate, as long as yours don't fail, you'll enjoy them. The color will be decent and so will the output. And for under $30 you can't complain.

J, I don't care anymore man.

Edit: And do you see how well I've gotten underneath your thin skin? I have said one sentence to you this entire page. Which has nothing to do with the topic at hand. And yet look at you go?

@ pick a side...

Jeremy, I totally understand man....both you guys have good knowledge and understanding off the car....both of u have helped me....

i know everyone doesnt get along well and just because of our thinking and personal experience....I can keep going on how a Mustang 5.0 only put 1-2 car's on me from 45-110, but no one will believe me....am not lying, but maybe the other guy didnt know how to drive....

so since we cant really prove each others personal experiences, lets just give them the benefit of doubt...no?

yeah now if I make a thread that I have an RS5 and my dad has an R8, then you can send Majofo to do his detective duties

Lets just all shake hands and call it a day

Same with you Chad....lets just stop with the bickering and enjoy the ramblings....

and why the freak are you fools talking about bulbs, I thought Maj had changed the topic to how many penis(s) will fit in Austin's bum....

No sir, but I am going to start getting the things I need to do it since I broke 100K now. I'm still not sure I'll handle myself or not, but either way, I will be providing parts even if I pay for it to be done.

I appreciate the attempt at levity, Anil.

I dont think doing the 105K service is that bad....

I took it to the dealership and paid $400 for labor and got all the OEM parts myself....I liked having that peace of mind that if something happens to the belt/etc down the line, I am covered

if I had to do it again, I will do it myself....and am getting pretty close to it....30K to go to do it again

Bought my 105k kit for $135 shipped a few weeks ago. Keep in mind the water pump that comes with this kit doesn't have the recessed lip to hold the seal in place, so you or your mechanic has to be careful it's placed correctly when installing.

Amazon.com: Gates TCKWP329 Engine Timing Belt Kit with Water Pump: Automotive Amazon.com: Gates TCKWP329 Engine Timing Belt Kit with Water Pump: Automotive

There is a still a bunch of other stuff you should get along with this too though.

Cam seals
Front main seal
Coolan
Thermostat
Valve cover gaskets and spark plug seals
Vtec solenoid seal?

Maybe the above isn't necessary, but I got it as preventative maintenance and so I would feel better.

J, I'm sure you can handle the 105k job. Just make sure you have a helper.

@ the ladies fighting over bulbs, I've been running the cheap ddm tuning bulbs for a few years now and no issues.

Amazon.com: Aisin TKH-002 Engine Timing Belt Kit with Water Pump: Automotive Amazon.com: Aisin TKH-002 Engine Timing Belt Kit with Water Pump: Automotive

on my Wish List.

Which one should I lean towards?

I would find out if the water pump has the recessed lip and get the one that does. An experienced mechanic will have no issues with either but the last thing that I want to happen is for that seal to not seat properly and have it start leaking over the winter.

All OEM pumps have a recessed lip. OEM Aisin pumps have tabs that hold the o-ring in place for installation. There is no issue with pumps that don't have o-ring tabs. You just have to be careful installing them to not bump the o-ring out of place. You can put a dab of vaseline around parts of the lip to help keep it static.

If the o-ring were installed incorrectly, you'd know pretty quick once everything is up and running.

Don't know if any of you guys fly a lot or plan to in the future but SW is running a killer deal right now. TL;DR you can get up to 2 roundtrip flights for just an activation fee. On top of that, you can get the companion pass which allows you to fly someone with you for free.
