So I found a good car. Most of the options I want, clean, under warranty. And I actually LOVE the color combo! But man I don't know if I would want beige leather long term. And while I like the le mans blue...I really want alpine white. Great price though and the newest model year I'll buy.

If that's your ONLY car, I don't think you'll want to babysit that leather for daily duties.
Very nice...I know I'll get flamed for it, but damn...it's such a small car. My female friend has a 135 in alpine white, might even be stick...very cool looking car though.

Yea I know I'd really have to baby it.

It's not quite an inch shorter in the front seats than a normal e90 I believe. But the wheelbase is a bit over 4 inches shorter.

They are small, they are light, they are little freaking rockets.

I'll say this...I hate BMW interiors. While nice they are so damn ugly. Lol

He didn't buy it.
Chad, agreed...hard to complain about the performance but the interior doesn't look like it's changed much since the 80s!

Chad, what year is that? What is the plan for the modding process? How long are you going to wait before modding?

I like the idea of owning one of these, I've just always been told to try to avoid owning a BMW that is out of warranty.

Dude the M3 was amazing. I won't lie. In literally every regard. The tech, the power, suspension, sound from both the front and back. I mean I'm not sure how much better it gets. It LOVES to be near redline. Lol

But! It's on the ceiling of my price range. Parts are UNGODLY expensive. Hell FLUIDS are expensive! And so was my estimated insurance jump.

Honestly if I were to spend say $42k on an older M3...I'd rather drop $50k on an S5 like J had. Style makes up for some of the performance IMO.

That's a 2010. The newest year you can get with the twin turboed N54. Thus the target year to find. There are subtle differences between the years, even in the same pre/post LCI series.

Modding process. I actually would not feel bad about buying a 1 that's already been tweaked out. I feel like I want the toys these days but don't want to put in the sweat, blood, tears. I know...flame me. But most of the time these cars are done very well, by a "richer" crowd, with more expensive parts. I'm good friends with two 1 series owners and they both told me don't be afraid to buy a modified car. However, even if modded already, I'd still prefer one under a warranty.

If I bought stock, under warranty, I will literally have a Cobb unit waiting for the first time I drive the car in the garage. After that would be AR downpipes. Next would be an ETS FMIC. Probably do a new BOV right from the get go because, well, I can. Than a corsa exhaust.

It will also depend on what suspension package I end up with. More often then not though I'm looking at packages where the suspension isn't bad (M) and I'd rather focus on power.

Of course, with these, there are like a zillion different CF parts that can be bought. So, a front splitter and rear trunk lip would be bought quickly. A halo bulb upgrade would be done right from the start too.

I'll have funds set aside for mods when I buy the car.

Ideally, I'd want my car to look mostly like this in the end.

thats a nice list of mods there...

I drove a 135i back in 2007/2008 and was it fun to drive....LOVED IT !!! I can only imagine what the M version would be to drive....

but yeah, if you plan on not keeping anything in the rear seats, its a great car, but it get cramped pretty quick

What's great is a ton of the M parts swap over. Even e9x M3 parts. That alpine white I just posted pretty much has the entire M3 suspension.

I remember when I had the Prelude. I ALWAYS needed the rear seats for people (HS/college days). The 2.5 seater was a PITA! The next car I had to get had to be a four door. So I got the TL. I bet in the ~6 years I've had it, literally, a total of 15 different people have been in the back seats. That's it. I bet no one besides me when cleaning has been in the rear seats of my car for over a year. Lol

You know the sad part of the 135 is that BMW made a super fast, tunable, small, lightweight RWD coupe and didn't put a LSD in it.

And the LSD I'd want is like $3200. Lol

I've used my rear seats maybe 3 times.

The few times I took the car because I wanted to show my parents the car don't count. lol

I don't know. Throw in some trash cans, a lawn mower, a small air compressor, a tool chest, and a power washer and the two car leaves much to be desired.

I can't wait until we build a shed. Then I'll have tons of room!

I told Jackie the great part about the 135 is I'll likely have enough room up front to be able to park a motorcycle! :P

I'm not sure if you're telling us to buy your butt, say goodbye to your butt, asking us to buy your TL because it has a hit of acid in it, claim your TL has a slip diff or your cat just rubbed it's cat bits over your phone / keyboard while you were logged in
